The one-way information deficit for a class of two-qubit states

Abstract

So far, one-way information deficit (OWID) has been calculated explicitly only for Bell-diagonal states and the four-parameter family of X-states with additional assumptions and expressions for more general quantum states are not known. In this paper, we derive explicit expressions for OWID for a larger class of two-qubit states, namely, a five-parameter family of two-qubit states. The dynamic behavior of the OWID under decoherence channel is investigated and it is shown that the OWID is more robust against the decoherence than the entanglement.

One-Way Information Deficit and Geometry for a Class of Two-Qubit States

Yaokun Wang, Teng Ma, Bo Li +1 more

The work deficit, as introduced by Jonathan Oppenheim et al. [ Phys. Rev. Lett. 89 (2002) 180402 ] is a good measure of the quantum correlations in a state and provides a new standpoint for understanding quantum non-locality. In this paper, we analytically evaluate the one-way information deficit (OWID) for the Bell-diagonal states and a class of two-qubit states and further give the geometry picture for OWID. The dynamic behavior of the OWID under decoherence channel is investigated and it is shown that the OWID of some classes of X states is more robust against the decoherence than the entanglement.

Super quantum discord for a class of two-qubit states with weak measurement

H. Eftekhari, E. Faizi

So far, super quantum discord has been calculated explicitly only for Bell-diagonal states and expressions for more general quantum states are not known. In this paper, we derive explicit expressions for super quantum discord for a larger class of two-qubit states, namely, a 4-parameter family of two-qubit states. We observe that, weak measurements obtain more quantumness of correlations than strong measurements. As an application, the dynamic behavior of the super quantum discord under decoherence channel is investigated. We find that, the super quantum discord decreases monotonically as a function of the measurement strength parameter.

Remark on the One-Way Quantum Deficit for General Two-Qubit States

Lian-He Shao, Zhengjun Xi, Yongming Li

We reinvestigate the one-way quantum deficit, which is a measure of quantum correlation emerging from a thermodynamical approach. We give a tight upper bound of the one-way quantum deficit for general mixed states, and give a sufficient condition for this bound. Finally, we discuss a universal way to evaluate the one-way quantum deficit for general two-qubit states.

Noise is resource-contextual in quantum communication

Aditya Nema, Ananda G. Maity, Sergii Strelchuk +1 more

Estimating the information transmission capability of a quantum channel remains one of the fundamental problems in quantum information processing. In contrast to classical channels, the information-carrying capability of quantum channels is contextual. One of the most significant manifestations of this is the superadditivity of the channel capacity: the capacity of two quantum channels used together can be larger than the sum of the individual capacities. Here, we present a one-parameter family of channels for which, as the parameter increases, its one-way quantum and private capacities increase while its two-way capacities decrease. We also exhibit a one-parameter family of states with analogous behavior with respect to the one- and two-way distillable entanglement and secret key. Our constructions demonstrate that noise is context dependent in quantum communication. Published by the American Physical Society 2024

Fisher and skew information for two-qubit Bell states under decoherence effects

Rachid Laghmach, Hanane El Hadfi, Bouchra Maroufi +1 more

We give the explicit expressions of quantum Fisher information and skew information for a two-qubit Bell states. We investigate their dynamics under the decoherence effects: phase-damping channel, depolarizing channel and amplitude-damping channel. We also discuss the thermal entanglement quantified by Wootters concurrence for these three decoherence channels and we compare its dynamical behavior with the quantum Fisher information and skew information. We then use this comparison to investigate the influence of noisy channels on thermal entanglement and its role in boosting the performance of metrology protocols. It is shown that the correlations in two-qubit Bell states are more resistant to phase-damping channel and depolarizing channels.
