Entanglement Involved in Pair Coherent State Studied via Wigner Function Formalism

Abstract

We calculate Wigner function, tomogram of the pair coherent state by using its Schmidt decomposition in the coherent state representation. It turns out that the Wigner function can be seen as the quantum entanglement (QE) between two two-variable Hermite polynomials (TVHP) and the tomogram is further simplified as QE of two single-variable Hermite polynomials. The Husimi function of pair coherent state is also calculated.

Wigner function and tomogram of the Hermite polynomial state

Meng Xiang-Guo, Wang Ji-Suo, Li Yan-Ling

Using the coherent state representation of Wigner operator and the technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators, this paper derives the Wigner function for the Hermite polynomial state (HPS). The tomogram of the HPS is calculated with the aid of newly introduced intermediate coordinate-momentum representation in quantum optics.

Wigner function for the generalized excited pair coherent state

Meng Xiang-Guo, Ji‐Suo Wang, Liang Bao-Long +1 more

This paper introduces the generalized excited pair coherent state (GEPCS). Using the entangled state |η〉 representation of Wigner operator, it obtains the Wigner function for the GEPCS. In the ρ-γ phase space, the variations of the Wigner function distributions with the parameters q , α, k and l are discussed. The tomogram of the GEPCS is calculated with the help of the Radon transform between the Wigner operator and the projection operator of the entangled state |η 1 , η 2 , τ 1 , τ 2 〉. The entangled states |η〉 and η 1 , η 2 , τ 1 , τ 2 〉 provide two good representative space for studying the Wigner functions and tomograms of various two-mode correlated quantum states.

Wigner function, optical tomography of two-variable Hermite polynomial state, and its decoherence effects studied by the entangled-state representations

Xiang‐Guo Meng, Zhen Wang, Ji‐Suo Wang +1 more

We analytically investigate the Wigner function (WF) and the optical tomography for the two-variable Hermite polynomial state (THPS) and the effect of decoherence on the THPS via the entangled-state representations. The nonclassicality of the THPS is investigated in terms of the partial negativity of the WF, which depends much on the polynomial orders m, n and the squeezing parameter r. We also extend recent theoretical studies of optical tomography and introduce the radon transformation between the Wigner operator and the projection operator of the entangled state |η,τ1,τ2〉 to derive the tomogram of the THPS. Furthermore, we investigate how the WF for the THPS evolves undergoing the thermal channel. The results show that quantum dissipation in the decoherence channel can thoroughly deteriorate the nonclassicality of the THPS, and thermal noise leads to much quicker decoherence than amplitude damping.

Two-Variable Hermite Polynomial Excitation of Two-Mode Squeezed Vacuum State as Squeezed Two-Mode Number State

Liyun Hu, Fan Hong‐Yi

We find that the squeezed two-mode number state is just a two-variable Hermite polynomial excitation of the two-mode squeezed vacuum state (THPES). We find that the Wigner function of THPES and its marginal distributions are just related to two-variable Hermite polynomials (or Laguerre polynomials) and that the tomogram of THPES can be expressed by one-mode Hermite polynomial.

Two-Variable Hermite Function as Quantum Entanglement of Harmonic Oscillator's Wave Functions

Lu Hai-Liang, Fan Hong-Yi

We reveal that the two-variable Hermite function h m , n , which is the generalized Bargmann representation of the two-mode Fock state, involves quantum entanglement of harmonic oscillator's wave functions. The Schmidt decomposition of h m , n is derived. It also turns out that h m , n can be generated by windowed Fourier transform of the single-variable Hermite functions. As an application, the wave function of the two-variable Hermite polynomial state S ( r ) H m , n (μ a 1 † ,μ a 2 † )|00⟩, which is the minimum uncertainty state for sum squeezing, in ⟨η| representation is calculated.

Wave function for the squeezed atomic coherent state in entangled state representation and some of its applications

Ji‐Suo Wang, Meng Xiang-Guo, Liang Bao-Long

Based on the Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen (EPR) entangled state representation, this paper introduces the wave function for the squeezed atomic coherent state (SACS), which turns out to be just proportional to a single-variable ordinary Hermite polynomial of order 2 j. As important applications of the wave function, the Wigner function of the SACS and its marginal distribution are obtained and the eigenproblems of some Hamiltonians for the generalized angular momentum system are solved.
