Abstract

A master equation for the P representation in the Schrödinger picture is derived for a general class of Hamiltonians.Received 15 March 1971DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.26.1130©1971 American Physical Society

Equation of Motion for the P Representation

B. Crosignani, U. Ganiel, S. Solimeno +1 more

A new equation of motion, which describes the time evolution of the $P$ representation in the Schr\"odinger picture, is derived. The equation applies to a very general class of Hamiltonians, and thus should be useful in many problems. As a demonstration of the usefulness of this equation, some known results are recovered by its direct application.

On the Physical Content of Lindblad Form Master Equations

R C de Berrêdo, J. G. Peixoto de Faria, F Camargo +5 more

We report on a solution of a quantum markovian equation of Lindblad form which yields, however, unphysical results. This is traced back to the assumptions made for the derivation of the equation which are valid only for a special class of interaction hamiltonians.
