Abstract

We propose a potentially practical scheme for generating the controllable photonic Fock state in a cavity by using the bichromatic adiabatic passage technique in the atom–cavity–laser system under dissipative environment. By numerically simulating the quantum dynamics of the whole system, we demonstrate quantitatively that the maximal probabilities of the Fock state can be achieved by elaborately adjusting the peak amplitudes of the laser’s Rabi frequency and the detuning between the laser frequency and the atomic transition frequency. In addition, we have also shown that the atomic and cavity dissipations play different roles in the preparation of the Fock state inside the cavity. The experimental feasibility and challenge are justified using currently available technology.

Quantum state transfer using stimulated Raman adiabatic passage under a dissipative environment

We propose a potentially practical scheme to realize arbitrary quantum state transfer between two traveling atoms that go through a high-finesse cavity by using stimulated Raman adiabatic passage in an atom-cavity-laser system under a dissipative environment. By numerically simulating the dynamics of the system, we demonstrate quantitatively that the fidelities of the quantum state transferred between two atoms can be maximized by elaborately adjusting the peak amplitudes of the laser's Rabi frequency and the detuning of the Raman transition. Additionally, the noise effect from the atomic and cavity dissipation can reduce the fidelity. The experimental feasibility is justified using currently available technology.

We present a theoretical investigation of a cavity-QED system controlled by bichromatic adiabatic passage in a dissipative environment. We analyze the production of a controlled Fock state in the cavity by a traveling atom simultaneously coupled by a laser field, and the leakage of the corresponding photons from the cavity.

High-efficiency single-photon Fock state production by transitionless quantum driving

Xuan Shi, L. F. Wei

A single-photon source is one of the key devices for optical quantum information processing. Differing from the usual stimulated Raman adiabatic passage to obtain single-photon radiation, here we propose an approach to produce an optical Fock state on demand in the usual atom–cavity system by utilizing the technique of transitionless quantum driving. The present proposal effectively suppresses the unwanted but practically unavoidable nonadiabatic transitions in the previous adiabatic schemes. Therefore, the efficiency of Fock state production by the present technique could be significantly high, even in the presence of various atomic and cavity dissipations.

High-efficiency Fock state productions via shortcuts to adiabatic passages

Xiaofeng Shi, L. F. Wei

Single photon source is one of the key devices for optical quantum information processings. Differing from the usual method to obtain single-photon radiations by using the spontaneous emissions of \pi-pulse excited atoms, here we propose an approach to produce optical Fock states on demand in the usual atom-cavity system by utilizing the technique of shortcuts to adiabatic passages. It is shown that, by applying auxiliary pulse(s) (besides the usual pumps to excite atom in the cavity), the desirable transitionless quantum drivings for Fock state productions (FSPs) could be implemented deterministically.Compared with the previous method based on stimulated Raman adiabatic passages for the FSPs [see, e.g., A. S. Parkins et. al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 71, 3095 (1993) for theoretical proposal; and A. Kuhn et. al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 067901 (2002) for experimental demonstrations], the present proposal suppress effectively the unwanted but practically unavoidable nonadiabatic transitions in the previous schemes during the drivings. Therefore, the efficiency of FSPs by the present technique should be significantly high, even in the presence of various atomic and cavity dissipations.

Shortcuts to adiabatic passage for the generation of a maximal Bell state and W state in an atom–cavity system

Mei Lu, Qing-Qin Chen

Abstract We propose an efficient scheme to generate the maximal entangle states in an atom–cavity system between two three-level atoms in cavity quantum electronic dynamics system based on shortcuts to adiabatic passage. In the accelerate scheme, there is no need to design a time-varying coupling coefficient for the cavity. We only need to tactfully design time-dependent lasers to drive the system into the desired entangled states. Controlling the detuning between the cavity mode and lasers, we deduce a determinate analysis formula for this quantum information processing. The lasers do not need to distinguish which atom is to be affected, therefore the implementation of the experiment is simpler. The method is also generalized to generate a W state. Moreover, the accelerated program can be extended to a multi-body system and an analytical solution in a higher-dimensional system can be achieved. The influence of decoherence and variations of the parameters are discussed by numerical simulation. The results show that the maximally entangled states can be quickly prepared in a short time with high fidelity, and which are robust against both parameter fluctuations and dissipation. Our study enriches the physics and applications of multi-particle quantum entanglement preparation via shortcuts to adiabatic passage in quantum electronic dynamics.

Shortcuts to adiabatic passage for the generation of maximally entangle states in a distributed atom-cavity system

Mei Lu, Chun‐Ling Zhang, Bin Zhang +1 more

Abstract We propose an efficient scheme to generate maximally entangled states between two three-level atoms in multi-cavity systems via shortcuts to the adiabatic technique. Two atoms are trapped in spatially separated cavities which are linked through direct coupling and optical fiber coupling, respectively. Time-dependent lasers which are tactfully designed radiate the atoms to drive the evolution rapidly. A determinate analysis solution for this distributed maximally entangled state is achieved by controlling the detuning between the cavity mode and laser fields. Numerical simulations show that the shortcut scheme permits the decoherence which arises from the noisy environment and spontaneous emission to some extent. Meanwhile, the scheme tolerates the imprecision of the experimental parameters, such as evolution time, laser parameters and so on. Our research provided a fast, analytical and feasible technology in non-locality quantum entanglement preparation in quantum electronic dynamics.
