Abstract

We obtain the exact wave functions of two Lane-Emden-type Kanai-Caldirola (LE-KC) oscillators by using the dynamical invariant method. To do so, we analytically solve the respective Milne-Pinney equation for each oscillator. We also calculate the uncertainty product, the transition probability and the quantum-mechanical energy expectation value for each oscillator. We compare the results with those of the well-known KC oscillator. The quantum-mechanical energy expectation value of the KC oscillator goes to zero faster than that of the LE-KC oscillators, indicating that the KC system is more damped than the LE-KC ones.

Fisher information of quantum damped harmonic oscillators

V. Aguiar, I. Guedes

We calculate the time-dependent Fisher information in position and momentum for the lowest lying state of two classes of quantum damped (Lane–Emden (LE) and Caldirola–Kanai (CK)) harmonic oscillators. The expressions of and are written in terms of a c-number quantity satisfying a nonlinear differential equation. Analytical solutions of were obtained. For the LE and CK oscillators, we observe that increases while decreases with increasing time. The product increases and tends to a constant value in the limit for the LE oscillator, while it is time-independent for the CK oscillator. Moreover, for the CK oscillator the product decreases as the damping increases. Relations among the Fisher information, Leipnik and Shannon entropies, and the Stam and Cramer–Rao inequalities are given. A discussion on the squeezing phenomenon in position for the oscillators is presented.

Osciladores log-periódicos e tipo Caldirola-Kanai

Vagner Henrique Loiola Bessa

In this work we present the classical and quantum solutions of two classes of time-dependent harmonic oscillators, namely: (a) the log-periodic and (b) the Caldirola-Kanai-type oscillators. For class (a) we study the following oscillators: (I) $m(t)=m_0frac{t}{t_0}$, (II) $m(t)=m_0$ and (III) $m(t)=m_0ajust{frac{t}{t_0}}^2$. In all three cases $omega(t)=omega_0frac{t_0}{t}$. For class (b) we study the Caldirola-Kanai oscillator (IV)where $omega(t)=omega_0$ and $m(t)=m_0 ext{exp}ajust{gamma t}$ and the oscillator with $omega(t)=omega_0$ and $m(t)=m_0ajust{1+frac{t}{t_0}}^alpha$, for $alpha=2$ (V) and $alpha=4$ (VI). To obtain the classical solution for each oscillator we solve the respective equation of motion and analyze the behavior of $q(t)$, $p(t)$ as well as the phase diagram $q(t)$ vs $p(t)$. To obtain the quantum solutions we use a unitary transformation and the Lewis and Riesenfeld quantum invariant method. The wave functions obtained are written in terms of a function ($ ho$) which is solution of the Milne-Pinney equation. Futhermore, for each system we solve the respective Milne-Pinney equation and discuss how the uncertainty product evolves with time.

Investigation of the time evolution of Lane–Emden-type Kanai–Caldirola oscillator

Serhat Fevzi Özeren

In this study, we have investigated the time evolution of the first kind Lane–Emden-type Kanai–Caldirola oscillator. The total energy of the one dimensional classical harmonic oscillator with time-dependent mass is obtained. Then by using the SU(1,1) coherent states, the classical equation of motion of the oscillator has been analyzed and the effects of increasing mass have been clearly illustrated in the figures.

Dinâmica quântica de um circuito RLC mesoscópico

Anderson Pereira Pinheiro

In this work we present a quantum description of a mesoscopic RLC circuit without source. For this purpose, we model this system for that of a damped harmonic oscillator which is described by the Caldirola-Kanai Hamiltonian. Then, with the aid of the quantum invariant method we solve the Schrödinger equation associated with this Hamiltonian and write the corresponding wave functions in terms of a particular solution of the Milne-Pinney equation. We also construct coherent states for the RLC quantized, and evaluate the quantum fluctuations of the charge and the magnetic flux, as well as the corresponding product of uncertainty.

Analytical Computation of the Caldirola-Kanai Oscillator Parameters by the Dynamic Invariant Method

Chadia Qotni, Az-Eddine L. Marrakchi, Salaheddine Sayouri +1 more

The method of the invariant dynamical linear operator is very simple and may be useful to solve the Schrodinger equation, in particular in the case of the problem of a harmonic oscillator with a time dependent mass and frequency. Indeed, we have successfully used this approach to the Caldirola-Kanai oscillator. In particular, we have obtained explicit expressions of the uncertainty product and the quantum correlation coefficient. The results obtained are in good agreement with those of the literature.

Time-dependent coupled harmonic oscillators

D. X. Macedo, I. Guedes

In this paper we use a canonical and a unitary transformation along with the Lewis and Riesenfeld invariant method to obtain the quantum states of a general system of two time-dependent statically coupled harmonic oscillators. The wave function obtained is written in terms of a c-number quantity, which is solution of the Milne-Pinney equation. We consider three different systems of time-dependent coupled oscillators, and for each one we solve the respective Milne-Pinney equation and discuss how the uncertainty product evolves with time.
