Entanglement of molecular-orientation, rotational and orbital degrees of freedom in multiphoton orientational wave packets

Constantin Maïnos, G. Dutier, Jules Grucker +3 more

Multiphoton orientational wave packets induced by short resonant polarized laser pulses in a rotationally-frozen interacting molecule contain relevant information. The entanglement of the orbital, rotational and orientational degrees of freedom shows a strong dependence on the polarization state of the absorbed photons and the space orientation of the interacting molecule and enables one to assign the orbital state of the excited molecular electron, to measure the space orientation of the interacting molecule from the orientational recurrences, to relate the measured temporal widths to the angular momentum photon state and the coherence of the laser pulse, to obtain information on the ground rotational state, or to measure the effective temperature of an isotropic molecular assembly. The space orientation of a small number of independent molecules can be distinguished from their distinct orientational dependence in the formation of the individual orientational wave packets.

Generating multiphoton Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states with weak cross-Kerr nonlinearity

Guang-Sheng Jin, Yuan Hua Lin, Biao Wu

We propose a scheme to generate polarization-entangled multiphoton Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states with weak cross-Kerr nonlinearity based on controlled bus rotation and subsequent homodyne measurement. Our method is simple in operation and has high success probabilities with near perfect fidelities in an ideal case.

Evaluation of Parameters Effect in Multiphoton Quantum Key Distribution Over Fiber Optic

Nur Ziadah Harun, Zuriati Ahmad Zukarnain, Zurina Mohd Hanapi +1 more

BB84 is a single photon that has been widely used since 1984 as the unconditional security of key distribution. Recently, the idea of multiphoton QKD was proposed to exchange the key using the rotational of polarization by over multi-stages protocol. By utilizing the state of polarization, the system does not require one of the four states like it did in the BB84 scheme. The multiphoton has the ability to improve the key rate generation and range of distances as well. Indeed, multiphoton QKD needs to be setup properly to gain the optimal performance over the fiber optic. This paper presents the fundamental implementation of multi-stages and multiphoton approach over the fiber optic by applying secret unitary transformation between Alice and Bob. The step by step operation of unitary transformation is applied using half-wave plates represented as Mueller matrix. This paper also evaluates the effects of parameters in the QKD model. The result reveals that channel loss, dark count rate, detector efficiency, photons' repetition rate, and the average number of photons will affect the QBER and SKR.
