Preparation of multiatom entangled states through dispersive atom–cavity-field interactions

Abstract

A technique based on a dispersive atom--cavity-field interaction is proposed for preparing two or more atoms in macroscopically separated entangled states. After suitably prepared atoms interact with the cavity field a subsequent measurement on this field projects the atoms onto the entangled states. Two-particle entangled states are discussed as well as a three-particle state of the type proposed by Greenberger, Horne, and Zeilinger. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.

Preparation of a four-atom Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state

Christopher C. Gerry

I propose a method to prepare four atoms in an entangled state of the type discussed by Greenberger, Horne, and Zeilinger [in Bell's Theorem, Quantum Theory and Conceptions of the Universe, edited by M. Kafatos (Kluwer Academic, Dordrecht, 1989), p. 107]. The method involves two micromaser cavities, each supporting two modes initially prepared in a nonlocalized two-photon state by an atom undergoing a two-photon transition. Subsequently, two atoms pass through each cavity, becoming entangled in a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state leaving the cavities in the vacuum. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.

Generation of Multi-atom Entanglement of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and W States in Cavity QED

Rong Zhang, Zhu Shi-Qun

A method to prepare multi-particle entanglement of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type and W-type is proposed through the interaction between the cavity and many atoms simultaneously. After suitable interaction, the selected measurements on the cavity field can create the entangled atomic states. These entangled states can be useful for quantum information manipulation and fundamental study of quantum theory. These states that violate the Bell's inequality are proven.

Preparation of Entangled Atomic States via Atoms Interacting with the Cavity-Field in SU (1,1) Coherent State

Kehui Song, Guang‐Can Guo

A new scheme is presented for generating atomic entangled states based on atoms-cavity-field interaction. After suitably prepared Ξ-type atoms interact with the cavity-field in the SU (1,1) coherent state initially, a subsequent measurement on this field projects the atoms onto the entangled states.

Preparation of W, GHZ, and two-qutrit states using bimodal cavities

Asoka Biswas, G. S. Agarwal

Abstract: We show how one can prepare three-qubit entangled states like W-states, Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states as well as two-qutrit entangled states using the multiatom two-mode entanglement. We propose a technique of preparing such a multi-particle entanglement using stimulated Raman adiabatic passage. We consider a collection of three-level atoms in Λ configuration simultaneously interacting with a resonant two-mode cavity for this purpose. Our approach permits a variety of multiparticle extensions. 1
