Coherent properties of a atom laser originating from stimulated Raman transition

The coherent properties of a atom laser originating from stimulated Raman transition of the atoms in Bose-Einstein condensate interacting with light fields is studied. The results show that this atom laser is antibunching, but in some conditions it is second-order coherent.

Coherent effects in lasers and amplifiers

É. M. Belenov, Peter G. Kryukov, A. Nazarkin +2 more

A review of basic analytical results on coherent propagation of optical pulses through nondegenerate amplifying media is presented. Original numerical results concerning pulse coherent amplification by degenerate media and, in particular, by the amplifying medium of an iodine laser are described also. Furthermore, some analytical results on coherent effects in the pulsed mode of laser generation are given. We have pointed out that the stochastic mode of laser radiation is related also to the coherency of interaction of a laser field with matter.

Does a laser generate coherent radiation?

S V Amel'kin, N B Arkhangel'skiĭ, А. Н. Ораевский

An analysis is made of the role of the polarization properties of the pump radiation in the appearance of a quasiclassical laser field. It is shown that a coherent quasiclassical field in a laser is of fluctuation origin and its appearance does not require the assumption that the active atoms are polarized by the pump source. The process of growth of a coherent laser field is simulated on a computer.
