Comment on ‘ “Stringy” coherent states inspired by generalized uncertainty principle’ [Phys. Lett. B 711 (5) (2012) 423–427]

Abstract

We argue that the expectation values and dispersions of various operators for coherent states of generalized harmonic oscillator , presented in Ghosh and Roy (2012) [1] , are incorrect. Therefore, the conclusions based on these results are misleading and need to be corrected.

Comment on “Coherent states for the nonlinear harmonic oscillator” [J. Math. Phys. 53, 062104 (2012)]

Naila Amir, Shahid Iqbal

We argue that the first order corrected computational scheme, used by Ghosh [J. Math. Phys. 53, 062104 (2012)] to obtain eigenenergies, corresponding generalized coherent states and various expectation values, is illegitimate. Consequently, the results presented in the work of Ghosh are incorrect and the corresponding conclusions are misleading.

Comment on “Quasi-coherent states for the Hermite oscillator” [J. Math. Phys. 59, 062104 (2018)]

The paper of Ünal [J. Math. Phys. 59, 062104 (2018)], though worthy of attention, contains a conclusion that is in error and may mislead the efforts to extend his results. The aim of the present note is twofold: we provide a correction to such a conclusion and then we emphasize some missing points that are necessary to clarify the content of the paper.

Coherent states for the nonlinear harmonic oscillator

Subir Ghosh

Wave packets for the quantum nonlinear oscillator are considered in the generalized coherent state framework. To first order in the nonlinearity parameter the coherent state behaves very similar to its classical counterpart. The position expectation value oscillates in a simple harmonic manner. The energy-momentum uncertainty relation is time independent as in a harmonic oscillator. Various features (such as the squeezed state nature) of the coherent state have been discussed.

Comment on “Generation of a superposition of coherent states in a resonant cavity and its nonclassicality and decoherence”

Gang Ren

Arpita Ghosh and P.K. Das (Can. J. Phys. 86: 811 (2008) doi:10.1139/p08-013 ) derived an analytic expression for the Wigner function of a superposition of coherent state. We point out the incorrectness of this result.

Comment on “Coherent states for exactly solvable potentials”

Mohamad M. Toutounji

In Phys. Rev. A 69, 012102 (2004), Schreecharan, Panigrahi, and Banerji present a general algebraic procedure for constructing coherent states of a wide class of exactly solvable potentials, e.g., Morse and Poschl-Teller. I have examined coherent states of the Morse oscillator presented by the authors and have found them to have incorrect mathematical substitutions. As such, this Comment looks at the correctness of two important equations that have led to their Morse oscillator coherent states.

Comment on “Path-integral action of a particle with the generalized uncertainty principle and correspondence with noncommutativity”

DaeKil Park, Eylee Jung

Recently in Phys. Rev. D 99, 104010 (2019), the nonrelativistic Feynman propagator for a harmonic oscillator system was presented when the generalized uncertainty principle is employed. In this short Comment we show that the expression is incorrect, and we derive its correct form.
