Evolutionarily Stable Strategies in Quantum Hawk–Dove Game

Ahmad Ahsan Nawaz, A. H. Toor

We quantize the Hawk–Dove game by using the most general form of a pure initial state to investigate the existence of pure and mixed evolutionarily stable strategies (ESS). An example is considered to draw a comparison between the classical and quantum version of the game. Our choice of the most general initial quantum state enables us to make the game symmetric or asymmetric. We show that for a particular set of game parameters where there exists only mixed ESS in the classical version of the game, quantization allows even a pure strategy to be an ESS for the symmetric game in addition to mixed ESS. On the other hand only pure strategy ESS can exist for the asymmetric quantum version of the Hawk–Dove game.

Asymmetric model of the dynamic quantum Cournot duopoly game with asymmetric information and heterogeneous players

Huaxi Chen, Wensheng Jia

Abstract Building on the existing symmetric quantization model of the dynamic Cournot duopoly game (CDG) with asymmetric information, we extend it to an asymmetric quantization model and study the stability of the quantum Bayesian Nash equilibrium (QBNE) under heterogeneous expectations. We analyze the influence of various parameters on the stability of QBNE, with a particular focus on the impact of the parameter α on system stability. The results show that when α < 1, under the same parameters, the quantum strategy of the asymmetric quantization model is more favorable for stabilizing the market. However, when α > 1, the quantum strategy of the symmetric quantization model is more conducive to stabilizing the market.

Competition of different evaluation schemes in the continuous variable game

Shangbin Li

An asymmetric generalization of classical Cournot's duopoly game was introduced and the simulation scheme of its quantized version was analyzed. In this scheme, the player assigned by a 'classical' measurement scheme always wins the player assigned by a quantum measurement scheme. It was shown that the fluctuation causes the disadvantage game rule of the 'quantum' player.
