THE STRUCTURE OF BETHE ANSATZ SOLUTIONS FOR THE CHAIN N=8, r=4

Abstract

The Bethe Ansatz can be treated using two approaches: The Co-ordinate Bethe Ansatz (CBA) and The Algebraic Bethe Ansatz (ABA). In this paper the relation between the solutions given by these two methods is addressed. The considerations are based on the finite Heisenberg magnet with N=8 nodes and for r=4 reversed spins s=1/2. Both methods provide consistent solutions in the entire Brillouin zone (BZ). Moreover there is a special point — a border of the BZ — for both approaches, in which the solutions are not well-defined.

THE HEISENBERG MAGNETIC RING WITH 6 NODES: EXACT DIAGONALIZATION, BETHE ANSATZ AND STRING CONFIGURATIONS

Andrzej Wal, Tadeusz Lulek, Barbara Lulek +1 more

We perform an exact diagonalization of the Heisenberg Hamiltonian for the magnetic ring consisting of N=6 nodes, compare the result with the Bethe Ansatz (BA) approach and verify the hypothesis of strings. We find and explain the failure of BA method in a single case of the highest weight eigenvector at the boundary of the Brillouin zone for the case of two spin deviations. The explanation involves the orbit structure of the corresponding set of magnetic configurations. We demonstrate that the finite size effects for N=6 only slightly deform the shape of asymptotic strings.

Bethe Ansatz for Heisenberg XXX Model

Shao-shiung Lin, Shi-shyr Roan

We investigate Bethe Ansatz equations for the one-dimensional spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ Heisenberg XXX chain with a special interest in a finite system. Solutions for the two-particle sector are obtained. The ground state in antiferromagnetic case has been analytically studied through the logarithmic form of Bethe Ansatz equations.

Algebraic Structure of Finite-Size Bethe Solutions in the Heisenberg Chain

Oliver R. Bellwood, William J. Munro

The spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain is the canonical example of an integrable quantum many-body model. Despite its exact solvability, explicit finite-size solutions are typically only accessible via numerical evaluation of the Bethe ansatz equations. Here, we analyse the algebraic structure of the exact, symbolic ground states for chains up to twelve sites using the Bethe ansatz. We find that the algebraic degree of the ground state magnon phases and Bethe roots scale with respect to system size at a different rate to the ground-state energy and wavefunction coefficients. The ground-state Bethe roots and energy are found to become Galois unsolvable for ten or more sites, thus demonstrating the lack of a symbolic analytical solution in a quantum integrable model due to algebraic complexity.

Anisotropic spin chain: Heisenberg’s xxz model for 4 inverted spins

А.М. Калиев

we study the numerical solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the inhomogeneous anisotropic XXZ Heisenberg model with a finite number of spins, with four inverted spins.Having determined the phases of the wave functions and using N-periodicity, we obtained numerical solutions for the system of Bethe equations of the anisotropic antiferromagnetic XXZ Heisenberg model.Using algebraic Bethe ansatz, various pulse and energy configurations for these states were given.

On the algebraic Bethe Ansatz approach to the correlation functions of the XXZ spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain(Solvable Lattice Models 2004 : Recent Progress on Solvable Lattice Models )

N Kitanine, Jean Michel Maillet, N. A. Slavnov +1 more

We present a review of the method we have elaborated to compute the correlation functions of the $XXZ$ spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain. This method is based on the resolution of the quantum inverse scattering problem in the algebraic Bethe Ansatz bamework, and leads to a mul- tiple integral representation of the dynamical correlation functions. We describe in particular some recent advances concerning the two-point functions: in the finite chain, they can be expressed in terms of a single multiple integral.Such a formula provides a direct analytic connection between the previously obtained multiple integral representations and the form factor expansions for the correlation functions.

Singularities in the Bethe solution of the XXX and XXZ Heisenberg spin chains

Rahul Siddharthan

We examine the question of whether Bethe's ansatz reproduces all states in the periodic Heisenberg XXZ and XXX spin chains. As was known to Bethe himself, there are states for which the Bethe momenta $k_n$ diverge: these are in fact the simplest examples of ``string'' solutions. The coefficients of the Bethe wavefunction, too, diverge. When there are only two down spins in the system (the case considered by Bethe), we can renormalize these coefficients to get a sensible (and correct) wavefunction. We show that this is not always possible when there are more than two down spins. The Bethe equations have several such divergent solutions, and some of these correspond to genuine eigenfunctions of the Hamiltonian, but several do not. Nor do they reproduce the correct energy eigenvalues. Moreover, we point out that the algebraic Bethe ansatz, an alternative way to construct the wavefunctions proposed by Faddeev, Takhtajan et al., leads to vanishing wavefunctions for all these solutions. Thus, the Bethe ansatz solution of the Heisenberg model must be regarded as either incomplete, or inaccurate.
