Solutions of the three-magnon bound state equation. III. The physical eigenstate

Abstract

The physical eigenvalue and eigenfunction are found analytically by directly solving the three-magnon bound state equation in one dimension. The structure of the equation suggests a simple ansatz for the eigenfunction, and the calculation is reduced to the solution of a finite number of linear algebraic equations. The method is elementary, but the explicit solution is found after a long calculation. The connection of the wavefunction with previous results is also established.

Solutions of the three magnon bound state equation. I

Chanchal K. Majumdar

Recently several unphysical solutions of the three magnon bound state equation for the isotropic Heisenberg Hamiltonian have been found, and one unphysical solution for the Hamiltonian with longitudinal anisotropy has been computed. Here we complete the work for such unphysical solutions for all anisotropy from the Ising to the isotropic Heisenberg limit by directly solving the integral equation. Two types of wavefunctions are constructed. The eigenvalue of the first type satisfies a cubic equation in general, but gives only a real root in the Ising limit and a pair of complex conjugate roots in the isotropic limit. The other type has a single eigenvalue; this one, previously known numerically, is shown to have a simple analytic form.

The three magnon bound-state equation in one dimension

Chanchal K. Majumdar, S. Banerjee

The mathematical analogy of the three magnon bound-state equation with other momentum-space integral equations is studied. It is shown that a variable transformation, similar to Wick’s transformation in the Bethe–Salpeter equation, leads to alternative methods of complete analytic solutions of this equation.

Exact solutions of the radial Schrodinger equation for some physical potentials

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

By using an ansatz for the eigenfunction, we have obtained the exact analytical solutions of the radial Schrodinger equation for the pseudoharmonic and Kratzer potentials in two dimensions. The energy levels of all the bound states are easily calculated from this eigenfunction ansatz. The normalized wavefunctions are also obtained.

Abstract By using an ansatz for the eigenfunction, we have obtained the exact analytical solutions of the radial Schrödinger equation for the pseudoharmonic and the Kratzer potentials in two dimensions. The bound-state solutions are easily calculated from this eigenfunction ansatz. The corresponding normalized wavefunctions are also obtained.

Free from spurious solutions integral equation for three-magnon bound states in 1D XXZ ferromagnet

P. N. Bibikov

A new integral equation for three-magnon bound states in XXZ spin chain is suggested. Unlike the one presented by C. K. Majumdar about 40 years ago this equation does not have spurious solutions. Such an advantage is a result of decomposition of the wave function in the Bloch basis rather than in the basis of flat waves.
