The Random Transverse Ising Model with Spin-1/2, Spin-1 and Mixed Spins

B. Laaboudi, M. El Atri, M. Saber +1 more

Using the effective field theory (EFT) which takes into consideration the fluctuations of the effective field and which is based on a probability distribution of random variables which accounts for all the single kinematic relations, we have studied the transverse random field Ising model (TRIM) with spin-½ and spin-1 and the transverse random field mixed Ising model (TRMIM) with both spin-½ and spin-1. It is shown that the simplest approximation gives satisfactory results for the phase diagrams when compared with other methods.

Phase Diagrams of the Semi-Infinite Spin-1/2 Ising Model and Spin-1/2 Ising Film in a Random Transverse Surface Field

B. Laaboudi, M. Saber, M. Kerouad

The critical behavior of both semi-infinite spin-1/2 Ising system and spin-1/2 Ising film in a random transverse surface field has been studied within an effective field theory. The effect of the ratio R of the surface exchange interaction to the bulk one, random transverse surface field and film thickness on the phase diagrams are investigated.
