Abstract

The thermodynamics of fermions in one dimension with a repulsive $\ensuremath{\delta}$-function interaction is analyzed in some detail. The excitation spectrum at finite temperature is also derived. It is shown that the spectrum can be classified into two types of excitation.

Thermodynamic properties of a finite one-dimensional system of bosons with repulsive delta-function interaction

The thermodynamics of N bosons in a length L in one dimension, with repulsive delta-function interaction, is studied numerically for finite N, L. The results show the nature of finite-size corrections and how the thermodynamic limit is approached, and hopefully will be of some guidance in seeking the solution of a more general model.

The exact energies and wavefunctions for the ground state and low-lying excited states of a system of N − 1 one-dimensional fermions all of the same spin and one fermion of the opposite spin are calculated in the large-volume, finite-density limit when the particles interact via a repulsive delta function potential. A number of properties of the system such as pair correlation functions and the effective mass of a certain class of excitations are also discussed.

We present the excitation spectra of a one-dimensional boson system with b-function interaction, which includes a velocity-dependent pseudopotential. The equilibrium thermodynamics of the system is studied and the behavior of the particle distribution at different temperature is given. The effects from the velocity-dependent interaction are analyzed. We address also on the question whether a one-dimensional fermion system with this pseudopotential is solvable.

The thermodynamics of fermions in one dimension with a repulsive \ensuremathδ\ensuremath{\delta}\ensuremathδ-function interaction is analyzed in some detail. The excitation spectrum at finite temperature is also derived. It is shown that the spectrum can be classified into two types of excitation.
