Coherent states in complex variables and classical dynamics

Yousef Yousefi, Х. Х. Муминов

It was studied coherent states in complex variables in SU(2), SU(3), SU(4) groups and in general in SU(n) group. Using the completeness relation of the coherent state, we obtain a path integral expression for transition amplitude which connects a pair of SU(n) coherent states. In the classical limit, a canonical equation of motion is obtained.

Initial value representation for the SU(n) semiclassical propagator

Thiago F. Viscondi, Marcus A. M. de Aguiar

The semiclassical propagator in the representation of SU(n) coherent states is characterized by isolated classical trajectories subjected to boundary conditions in a doubled phase space. In this paper, we recast this expression in terms of an integral over a set of initial-valued trajectories. These trajectories are monitored by a filter that collects only the appropriate contributions to the semiclassical approximation. This framework is suitable for the study of bosonic dynamics in n modes with fixed total number of particles. We exemplify the method for a Bose-Einstein condensate trapped in a triple-well potential, providing a detailed discussion on the accuracy and efficiency of the procedure.

SU (N) coherent states

Manu Mathur, Hamdi Mani

We generalize Schwinger boson representation of SU(2) algebra to SU(N) and define coherent states of SU(N) using 2(2N−1−1) bosonic harmonic oscillator creation and annihilation operators. We give an explicit construction of all (N-1) Casimirs of SU(N) in terms of these creation and annihilation operators. The SU(N) coherent states belonging to any irreducible representations of SU(N) are labeled by the eigenvalues of the Casimir operators and are characterized by (N-1) complex orthonormal vectors describing the SU(N) manifold. The coherent states provide a resolution of identity, satisfy the continuity property, and possess a variety of group theoretic properties.
