Projection-operator methods and time-correlation functions in two-level atoms

Subir K. Bose, David T. Ng

Zwanzig's projection operator and Mori's non-Markoffian generalized Langevin equation methods are applied to the problem of two-level atoms. Time-correlation functions of appropriate variables are calculated in a perturbation scheme.

Modified Robertson Projection-operator Method for Coherently Driven Two-level Atoms in a Resonant Cavity

JOSIP SEKE

A modified Robertson projection-operator technique, developed by the author recently, is applied to a system of N two-level atoms driven by an external resonant field in a resonant cavity. An exact closed equation of motion for the collective atomic population inversion is derived.
