The site-diluted Ising ferromagnet is investigated on a square lattice, within short-time-dynamics numerical simulations, for different site concentrations. The dynamical exponents θ and z are obtained and it is shown that these exponents do depend strongly on the disorder, exhibiting a clear breakdown of universality, characterized by relative variations of nearly 100% in the range of site concentrations investigated. In what concerns the static exponents β and ν, universality is preserved within the error bars.
Monte Carlo simulations of the short-time dynamic behavior are reported for three-dimensional weakly site-diluted Ising model with spin concentrations p=0.95 and 0.8 at criticality. In contrast to studies of the critical behavior of the pure systems by the short-time dynamics method, our investigations of site-diluted Ising model have revealed three stages of the dynamic evolution characterizing a crossover phenomenon from the critical behavior typical for the pure systems to behavior determined by the influence of disorder. The static and dynamic critical exponents are determined with the use of the corrections to scaling for systems starting separately from ordered and disordered initial states. The obtained values of the exponents demonstrate a universal behavior of weakly site-diluted Ising model in the critical region. The values of the exponents are compared to results of numerical simulations which have been obtained in various works and, also, with results of the renormalization-group description of this model.
We study the site-diluted Ising model on the kagome lattice using the Wolff single-cluster algorithm, focusing on both equilibrium and dynamic critical properties. The equilibrium critical exponents
ν=1 and
γ/ν=7/4 retain their exact pure Ising values for all spin concentrations
p considered, consistent with the marginal irrelevance of disorder at
α=0, with the specific heat crossing over from logarithmic to double-logarithmic growth upon dilution. These static results are shared between the kagome and square lattices. On the dynamic side,
z decreases upon dilution on both lattice, opposite to what is observed under local dynamics, with evidence of saturation to a
p-independent value at strong dilution, suggesting a diluted dynamic fixed point. While
z is consistent between the two lattices in the pure case, it differs in the diluted regime, an effect we attribute to the two lattices sitting at different positions along the renormalization-group flow between the Ising and percolation fixed points, rather than to a true asymptotic breakdown of dynamic universality.
We study the effects of dilution to the critical properties of site-diluted Ising model in two dimensions using Monte Carlo simulations. Quenched disorder from the dilution is incorporated into the Ising model via random empty sites on the square lattice of Ising spins. Thermodynamic quantities such as the magnetization
M per spin, energy
E per spin, magnetic susceptibility
χ per spin, and specific heat
C per spin are then calculated after the system has equilibrated. At small dilution concentrations
d<0.1, we find that the value of the critical exponent
β does not deviate from its pure Ising value. At higher dilution concentrations
d>0.1, however, we find
β to strongly depend on the value of
d. We are able to locate a critical temperature
Tc and a critical dilution concentration
dc where the phase transition occurs. We find
Tc to depend linearly on
d. In the phase diagrams of
M,
E,
χ, and
C, we find that the phase transition line eventually disappears at high dilutions. Our results suggest that there is a transition from Strong Universality at low dilution to Weak Universality at high dilution. Lastly, we find a wide and nonsingular increase in the magnetic susceptibility
χ at the low temperature and high dilution region.
In this work, we evaluate the probability distribution function of the order parameter for the two-dimensional site-diluted Ising model. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations have been performed for different spin concentrations p (0.70<or=p<or=1) on square lattices with linear sizes L (20<or=L<or=100). The results indicate that the universality class of the diluted Ising model seems to be independent of the amount of dilution. Logarithmic corrections of the finite-size critical temperature behavior of the model can also be inferred even for such small lattices.
We study the purely relaxational dynamics (model A) at criticality in three-dimensional disordered Ising systems whose static critical behaviour belongs to the randomly diluted Ising universality class. We consider the site-diluted and bond-diluted Ising models, and the ± J Ising model along the paramagnetic–ferromagnetic transition line. We perform Monte Carlo simulations at the critical point using the Metropolis algorithm and study the dynamic behaviour in equilibrium at various values of the disorder parameter. The results provide a robust evidence of the existence of a unique model-A dynamic universality class which describes the relaxational critical dynamics in all considered models. In particular, the analysis of the size dependence of suitably defined autocorrelation times at the critical point provides the estimate z = 2.35(2) for the universal dynamic critical exponent. We also study the off-equilibrium relaxational dynamics following a quench from to T c . In agreement with the field-theory scenario, the analysis of the off-equilibrium dynamic critical behaviour gives an estimate of z that is perfectly consistent with the equilibrium estimate z = 2.35(2).
