Abstract

We obtain a large class of multiphoton annihilation operator (F) eigenstates by constructing an operator ${\mathit{G}}^{\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}}$ such that [F,${\mathit{G}}^{\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}}$]=1. We show that almost all known coherent states, including the squeezed states and other nonclassical states such as the cat and the kitten states follow from our approach. Further, we show that all of them can be expressed as an exponential operator acting on the vacuum of the operator F. The technique can be easily generalized to deformed bosons.

Unified approach to the analogues of single-photon and multiphoton coherent states for generalized bosonic oscillators

P. Shanta, S. Chaturvedi, Venkatraman Srinivasan +1 more

A large class of bosonic coherent states known in the literature have been constructed in a unified way by Shanta et. al. (1994). It is shown that this method can be easily extended to generalized bosonic-oscillator systems.

Squeezed States for General Multiphoton Systems: Towards the displacement-operator formalism

Hong‐Chen Fu, Ryu Sasaki B

We propose a displacement-operator approach to some aspects of squeezed states for general multiphoton systems. The explicit displacement-operators of the squeezed vacuum and the coherent states are achieved and expresses as the ordinary exponential form. As a byproduct the coherent states of the $q$-oscillator are obtained by the {\it usual exponential} displacement-operator.

Coherent states of nonlinear algebras: applications to quantum optics

V. Sunilkumar, Bindu A. Bambah, R. Jagannathan +2 more

We present a general unified approach for finding the coherent states (CSs) of polynomially deformed algebras such as the quadratic and Higgs algebras, which are relevant for various multiphoton processes in quantum optics. We give a general procedure to map these deformed algebras to appropriate Lie algebras. This is used, for the noncompact cases, to obtain the annihilation operator eigenstates, by finding the canonical conjugates of these operators. Generalized CSs, in the Perelomov sense, also follow from this construction. This allows us to explicitly construct CSs associated with various quantum optical systems.

The construction of some important classes of generalized coherent states: the nonlinear coherent states method

R. Roknizadeh, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Considering some important classes of generalized coherent states known in literature, we demonstrated that all of them can be created via conventional fashion, i.e. the "lowering operator eigen-state" and the "displacement operator" techniques using the {\it "nonlinear coherent states"} approach. As a result we obtained a {\it "unified method"} to construct a large class of coherent states which already have been introduced by different prescriptions.

Eigenstates of two-photon annihilation operators

C. L. Mehta, Anil Roy, G. M. Saxena

We introduce the inverse of the harmonic-oscillator creation and annihilation operators by their actions on the number states. We then show that three of the two-photon annihilation operators, a^ $^{\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$a^, a^a^ $^{\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$, and a^ $^{2}$, possess eigenstates that are analogous to the often-used coherent and squeezed states. A family of the eigenstates of the operator a^ $^{\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$a^ is the customary squeezed vacuum S(\ensuremath{\sigma})\ensuremath{\Vert}0〉 while another family of the eigenstates of a^a^ $^{\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$ is the state S(\ensuremath{\sigma})\ensuremath{\Vert}n=1〉. We find some interesting properties related to squeezing, bunching, and antibunching exhibited by these states. An alternative method of summing some series by using these states is also considered. It is hoped that these states will find applications in quantum optics and quantum mechanics in general.
