Transition of a noncavity bistable exciton system driven by correlated external noise to a strongly absorbing state

Abstract

The correlated action of additive and multiplicative noise interferences on an exciton bistable system results in the disappearance of the weakly absorbing state, with the system’s behavior turning from reversible to irreversible. The strongly absorbing state of the bistable system shifts to the region of higher exciton concentrations.

Noise induced re-entrant transitions in exciton bistable system

Iurii Gudyma

We study a re-entrant transition in an exciton bistable system under the influence of multiplicative noise. The re-entrant behavior is predictable for specific values of the system control parameter when increasing the multiplicative noise intensity. The system of Wannier-Mott excitons exhibits bistable ↔ monostable transitions in a window of intermediate amplitudes of the multiplicative noise intensity demonstrating its destructive and constructive role.

On the Multispike Structure of a Transmitted Pulse in Monocrystalline Films with Absorption Bistability

Lev T. Perelman, Edward I. Vitkin

Abstract The dynamics of motion of boundaries between strongly and weakly absorbing regions in monocrystalline films with increasing absorption bistability is considered. It is shown that the multispike structure of a transmitted pulse is attributed to the simultaneous influence of the film boundary effects and bleaching of the sample at large exciton concentrations.

Beyond mean-field bistability in driven-dissipative lattices: Bunching-antibunching transition and quantum simulation

Juan José Mendoza-Arenas, Stephen R. L. Clark, Simone Felicetti +4 more

In the present work we investigate the existence of multiple nonequilibrium steady states in a coherently driven $XY$ lattice of dissipative two-level systems. A commonly used mean-field ansatz, in which spatial correlations are neglected, predicts a bistable behavior with a sharp shift between low- and high-density states. In contrast one-dimensional matrix product methods reveal these effects to be artifacts of the mean-field approach, with both disappearing once correlations are taken fully into account. Instead, a bunching-antibunching transition emerges. This indicates that alternative approaches should be considered for higher spatial dimensions, where classical simulations are currently infeasible. Thus we propose a circuit QED quantum simulator implementable with current technology to enable an experimental investigation of the model considered.

Noise mechanism of reentrant transition in exciton optical bistable system

Iurii Gudyma, B. V. Ivanskiĭ, O. Semenko

We study a reentrant transition in exciton optical bistable system in the presence of multiplicative noise. The reentrant behavior is predictable for specific values of the system control parameter while increasing the multiplicative noise intensity. The system of Wannier-Mott excitons exhibits bistable mono-stable transitions in a window of intermediate amplitudes of multiplicative noise intensity demonstrating its destructive and constructive role.
