Sudden death of entanglement of a quantum model

Abstract

In this paper the so-called sudden death effect of entanglement is investigated in a quantum model. The results show that one can expect the resurrection of the original entanglement to occur in a periodic way following each sudden death event. The length of the time interval for the zero entanglement depends not only on the degree of entanglement of the initial state but also on the initial state.

A NEW FEATURE ON THE SUDDEN DEATH OF ENTANGLEMENT

Xue‐Qun Yan

Based on the exactly analytic solution obtained of the intensity-dependent Jaynes–Cummings model for a certain class of initial entangled mixed states, we explore the time evolution of the entanglement between two atoms, initially non-locally correlated and separately interacting with two distinct cavities. The results show that entanglement sudden death is dependent on the different initial states of atoms, and the length of the time interval for the zero entanglement is invariant for a certain class of initial mixed states.

Sudden Death and Sudden Birth of Entanglement Between Two Atoms Successively Passing Fock State Field

Gao De-ying

The dynamics of entanglement of two initially separate atoms passing through a cavity one after another is studied by the negativity method. The effects of the two atom initial states and the field in the fock state on the time evolution of atom-atom entanglement are examined. The phenomenon of sudden birth and death of entanglement occurs when the photon number in the fock state is not zero and the phenomenon will change with the two atom initial states and the photon number.

Study on sudden death of the entanglement between an isolated atom and an atom inside a bimodal cavity

Liao Qing-Hong

The entanglement dynamics of two atoms initially in an entangled state system interacting with a bimodal field is investigated by making use of the concurrence and linear entropy. The effect of the initial entanglement degree of two atoms and the cavity field on the time evolution of concurrence is analyzed. The results show that the phenomenon of sudden death of the entanglement between two atoms occurs. The length of the death time interval is independent of the initial entanglement degree of two atoms. However, the death time depends on the initial entanglement degree of the cavity field. The atom and the field are entangled during all the evolution process.

Sudden death and sudden birth of entanglement in common structured reservoirs

L. Mazzola, Sabrina Maniscalco, Jyrki Piilo +2 more

We study the exact entanglement dynamics of two qubits in a common structured reservoir. We demonstrate that for certain classes of entangled states, entanglement sudden death occurs, while for certain initially factorized states, entanglement sudden birth takes place. The backaction of the non-Markovian reservoir is responsible for revivals of entanglement after sudden death has occurred, and also for periods of disentanglement following entanglement sudden birth.

Entanglement-breaking channels and entanglement sudden death

Laura T. Knoll, Christian Tomás Schmiegelow, O. Jiménez Farías +2 more

The occurrence of entanglement sudden death in the evolution of a bipartite system depends on both the initial state and the channel responsible for the evolution. An extreme case is that of entanglement-breaking channels, which are channels that, acting on only one of the subsystems, drives them to full disentanglement, regardless of the initial state. In general, one can find certain combinations of initial states and channels acting on one or both subsystems that can result in entanglement sudden death or not. Neither the channel nor the initial state are responsible for this effect but their combination. In this paper we show that, for two entangled qubits, when entanglement sudden death occurs, the evolution can be mapped to that of an effective entanglement-breaking channel on a modified initial state. Our results allow to anticipate which states will suffer entanglement sudden death or not for a given evolution. An experiment with polarization-entangled photons demonstrates the utility of this result in a variety of cases.

Sudden Death of Entanglement between Two Atoms with Initial Tripartite Entangled State in the Tavis–Cummings Model

Qing Yang, Yang Ming, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

We study the entanglement dynamics of two atoms with initial tripartite entangled W-like state in the Tavis–Cummings model. We find that the entanglement evolvement is sensitive not only to the entanglement degree of the initial state but also to the concrete form of the initial state. The so-called sudden death effect occurs only for some initial states.
