Magnetic Field Effects on Quantum Correlations for the XXX Heisenberg Spin Chain

Safa Jami, Zohreh Haqpanah

We study the geometric quantum discord (GQD) for three spin 1/2 particles in the XXX Heisenberg model with an external magnetic field. We investigate the effect of temperature and J (the strength of interaction) on the GQD. Then, we apply a uniform magnetic field to our system and study the behavior of the GQD under the field. Furthermore, we compare the behavior of the GQD to the entanglement for our system under the above parameters.

QUANTUM DISCORD IN THE THERMAL STATES OF A SPIN-STAR SYSTEM

XIAO SAN MA, Guang Xing Zhao, Jia Yan Zhang +1 more

We investigate the quantum discord in the thermal states for a spin-star model consisting of three parties which include one central spin and the other two outer spins. Our results imply that the quantum correlation can be established between the two outer spins both of which interacting with the central spin independently. From the analysis, we find that the quantum discord and entanglement depends not only on the external magnetic field and the interaction strength but also on the anisotropy parameter and the temperature. Specially, the quantum discord is more robust than the quantum entanglement in the sense that the quantum discord lasts for higher temperatures than the entanglement does.

Quantum discord in spin-1/2 Heisenberg chains with Dzyaloshinkii–Moriya interaction

XIAO SAN MA, An Min Wang

We have investigated the quantum discord (QD) of the thermal density matrix of spin-1/2 Heisenberg chains with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction. With fermionization technique, we study the mutual effect of DM interaction and the external magnetic field on the QD and the entanglement. Our analysis implies that the DM interaction can enhance the QD while the external magnetic field will shrink the QD. By a comparison between the entanglement and the QD, we find that the QD is more robust to the temperature and to the external magnetic field than the entanglement of formation (EoF) in the sense that the EoF takes a zero value while the QD does not for high temperature and strong external magnetic field. This point confirms the conclusion that there exist some separable states containing non-zero QD.
