Comment on ‘‘Low-temperature properties of the Hubbard chain with an attractive interaction’’

Ferenc Woynarovich

It is shown in an exact analytic way that contrary to the claim made in a paper by Lee and Schlottmann---which was based on a numerical analysis---the magnetic susceptibility of the one-dimensional attractive Hubbard model at zero temperature just above the critical field is finite. This is a unique phenomenon and is caused by the fact that the bound pairs which have to be broken up to create magnetic excitations follow a Fermi-like distribution.
