Effects of Dipole Interaction on Emission Spectra of Atoms in Two-Photon Processes

Zhenfei Luo, Zhizhan Xu, Lei Xu

We study the interaction of a pair of coupling two-level atoms with a single mode of the radiation field in an ideal cavity via two-photon resonant transition and/or degenerate Raman coupled processes. In particular, we consider the emission spectra for both two-photon processes. The effects of atomic coupling are analyzed and the properties of emission spectra for large photon number of the cavity-mode are discussed.

Four-level superradiant laser with full atomic cooperativity

Deshui Yu, Jingbiao Chen

We investigate a four-level superradiant laser whose intensity is proportional to ${N}^{2}$ and whose linewidth scales as $1/{N}^{2}$. In the absence of spontaneous emissions, we derive the stationary solutions of the atomic full cooperativity, analyze their stabilities, and find the corresponding irreducible representation based on group $U(4)$. We also investigate the spectra of the phase and amplitude fluctuations of the fields inside and outside the cavity and find that the amplitude fluctuations of the output fields cannot be squeezed in the low-frequency limit, which is completely different from the three-level superradiant laser system. Finally, we consider the stationary solutions corresponding to the partial cooperativity due to the symmetry breaking of $U(4)$ induced by the atomic spontaneous emissions.

Influence of the cooperative effects on the emission and absorption spectra of atoms in a strong field

M. G. Gladush, A. A. Panteleev

The spectral dependences of absorption and emission by an optically dense concentrated system of two-level atoms are studied with allowance made for the cooperative effects. Analytical expressions are derived for the stationary spectrum of resonance fluorescence and the absorption spectrum of a probe signal. The results obtained suggest that the system can have a bistable behavior and its spectral characteristics are significantly modified.

We investigate a four-level superradiant laser whose intensity is proportional to N2{N}^{2}N2 and whose linewidth scales as 1/N21/{N}^{2}1/N2. In the absence of spontaneous emissions, we derive the stationary solutions of the atomic full cooperativity, analyze their stabilities, and find the corresponding irreducible representation based on group U(4)U(4)U(4). We also investigate the spectra of the phase and amplitude fluctuations of the fields inside and outside the cavity and find that the amplitude fluctuations of the output fields cannot be squeezed in the low-frequency limit, which is completely different from the three-level superradiant laser system. Finally, we consider the stationary solutions corresponding to the partial cooperativity due to the symmetry breaking of U(4)U(4)U(4) induced by the atomic spontaneous emissions.
