Abstract

We propose a protocol to directly implement the nonlocal phase gate of N A-type three-level atoms trapped in distant cavities by using interference of polarized photons. The protocol uses the effects of quantum statistics of indistinguishable photons emitted by the atoms inside optical cavities.

Preparation of cluster states of four distant atoms by the interference of polarized photons

Y. Xia, H. S. Song

We propose a protocol to generate the cluster states of four A-type three-level atoms trapped in distant cavities by using the interference of polarized photons. The protocol uses the effects of the quantum statistics of indistinguishable photons emitted by the atoms inside optical cavities. This makes the protocol more realizable in experiments.

Conditional quantum phase gate using distant atoms and linear optics

Xu‐Bo Zou, Wolfgang M. Mathis

A scheme is proposed to implement a conditional quantum phase gate between atoms trapped in spatially separated cavities. Instead of direct interaction between atoms, quantum interference of polarized photons decayed from the optical cavities is used to realize the desired quantum operation between two distant atoms. The scheme requires a twofold coincidence detection, and is insensitive to the imperfection of the photon detectors.

Generation of four-atom entangled decoherence-free states by interference of polarized photons

Yan Xia, Jie Song, Pei-Min Lu +1 more

We propose a protocol to generate four-atom entangled decoherence-free states trapped in distant cavities by using the interference of polarized photons. The protocol uses the effects of quantum statistics of indistinguishable photons emitted by the atoms inside optical cavities. In the Lamb–Dicke limit, the protocol does not require the simultaneous click of detectors. This makes the protocol more realizable in experiments.

One-Step Implementation of Mulitqubit Quantum Phase Gate in a Cavity QED System

Qiu-Bo Fan

An alternative protocol is proposed to implement three-qubit phase gate between photon and atoms in a high- Q bimodel optical cavity The idea can be extended to directly implement N -qubit phase gate, and the gating time that is required to implement the protocol does not rise with increasing number of qubits. The influence of cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission on the gate fidelity is also discussed.

Effective implementation of the two-atom controlled phase gate with the help of the cross-Kerr nonlinearity

Pei-Min Lu

We propose an effective protocol to direct implement the two-atom controlled phase gate with the cross-Kerr nonlinearity by interference of polarized photons. The protocol is based on optical elements, two Λ-type three-level atoms trappd in two distant cavities,cross-Kerr nonlinearity and the conventional photon detectors, which are feasible with existing experimental technology. The advantages of the protocol are that in Lamb-Dicke limit, the protocol do not require the simultaneous click of the detectors and has a high success probability. This makes the present protocol more realizable in experiments.

We propose a protocol to generate a class of entangled states of N′Λ-type three-level atoms trapped in distant cavities by using interference of polarized photons. The proposed setup involves simple linear optical elements, cavities, and the conventional photon detectors that only distinguish the vacuum and the nonvacuum Fock number states.
