Demonstration of eight-partite two-diamond shape cluster state for continuous variables

Multipartite entangled state is the basic resource for implementing quantum information networks and quantum computation. In this paper, we present the experimental demonstration of the eight-partite two-diamond shape cluster states for continuous variables, which consist of eight spatially separated and entangled optical modes. Eight resource squeezed states of light with classical coherence are produced by four nondegenerate optical parametric amplifiers and then they are transformed to the eight-partite two-diamond shape cluster states by a specially designed linear optical network. Since the spatially separated multipartite entangled state can be prepared off-line, it can be conveniently applied in the future quantum technology.

Realization and characterization of a 2-photon 4-qubit linear cluster state

Cluster states, recently introduced as a fundamental resource for one-way quantum computation, represent genuine multiqubits entangled states. The one-way model is based on the initial preparation of entangled qubits in the cluster state, followed by single qubits measurements and feed-forwards. All the difficulties present in the standard computation model, for instance the implementation of two qubits gates, are transferred in the one-way model to the state preparation.

Generation of Four-Mode Continuous-Variable Cluster States

Cluster states are sufficient resources for realizing quantum computation. Their implementations can be achieved via either discrete‐variable systems (especially qubit systems) or continuous‐variable systems. Here we report on the experimental generation of an important example of a continuous‐variable cluster state, a four‐mode linear cluster state.
