Abstract

The anticommutator analogue of the Baker-Hausdorff lemma is formulated and proved by the differential equation method. It is pointed out that this analogue, when suitably transformed, is more convenient for application whenever the operators in question satisfy simpler repeated anticommutator than repeated commutator relations.

Derivation of Baker-Hausdorff formula using the operator's matrix representation

HE Yon

Derivation of Baker- Hausdorff formula using the matrix representation is a simple method. The derivation does not refer to the differential for a parameter. Furthermore, the matrix representation for Baker- Hausdorff formula is more useful to treat the specific physical problem.

The stochastic Baker-Hausdorff formula and its applications to quantum relaxation processes

A. M. Sinev

In this paper, we consider the stochastic analog of the Baker-Hausdorff formula for operators satisfying the canonical commutation relations. This formula can be used to obtain an exact solution to the problem of the dynamics of a quantum system interacting with the environment.

A Feynman-Kac formula for anticommuting Brownian motion

Steven Leppard, Alice Rogers

Motivated by application to quantum physics, anticommuting analogues of Wiener measure and Brownian motion are constructed. The corresponding Itô integrals are defined and the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a class of stochastic differential equations is established. This machinery is used to provide a Feynman-Kac formula for a class of Hamiltonians. Several specific examples are considered.

Meta-Derivatives and Anticommutators

Hans Freistadt, Ruth Rebekka Struik

A functional operation, (called meta-differentiation) suitable for representing quantum-mechanical momenta in terms of the coordinates to which they are conjugate, is constructed explicitly from the commutation or anticommutation relations. In the case of commutation relations, one is led to a slight generalization of the conventional derivative. The operation to be used in the case of anticommutation relations is: take the odd part of the function and divide by the independent variable.
