Abstract

In a recently published paper in this journal [A. Cheaghlou and O. Faizy, J. Math. Phys. 49, 022104 (2008)], the authors introduce the Gazeau–Klauder coherent states for the trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential as an infinite superposition of the wavefunctions. It is shown that their proposed measure to realize the resolution of the identity condition is not positive definite. Consequently, the claimed coherencies for the trigonometric Rosen–Morse wavefunctions cannot actually exist.

Gazeau–Klauder coherent states for trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential

Alireza Chenaghlou, Omid Faizy

The Gazeau–Klauder coherent states for the trigonometric Rosen–Morse potential are constructed. It is shown that the resolution of unity, temporal stability, and action identity conditions are satisfied for the coherent states. The Mandel parameter is also calculated for the weighting distribution function corresponding to the coherent states.

Comment on “Barut–Girardello and Klauder–Perelomov coherent states for the Kravchuk functions” [J. Math. Phys. 48, 112106 (2007)]

We call attention to the misconstructions in a paper recently published in this journal [A. Chenaghlou and O. Faizy, J. Math. Phys. 48, 112106 (2007)]. It is shown that the constructed Barut–Girardello coherent states are problematic from the view points of the definition and the measure. The claimed coherencies for the Kravchuk functions cannot actually exist.

COHERENT STATES FOR GENERALIZED LAGUERRE FUNCTIONS

Ahmed Jellal

We explicitly construct a Hamiltonian whose exact eigenfunctions are the generalized Laguerre functions. Moreover, we present the related raising and lowering operators. We investigate the corresponding coherent states by adopting the Gazeau–Klauder approach, where resolution of unity and overlapping properties are examined. Coherent states are found to be similar to those found for a particle trapped in a Pöschl–Teller potential of the trigonometric type. Some comparisons with Barut–Girardello and Klauder–Perelomov methods are noted.
