Abstract

We study the behaviour of the density operator for the radiation field in a single-mode cavity at a finite temperature. The master equation is solved for any initial cavity field by using superoperator methods.

Algebraic Solution To The Master Equation For A Quantized Cavity Mode With Initial Squeezed State

H. A. Schmitt, A. Mufti

There are numerous examples in physics that can be modeled by the interaction between a small system of interest and a reservoir. The interaction typically leads to the irreversible decay of the system variables. As the system evolves into an equilibrium state, various parameters such as mean values, probabilities, and variances change until the final steady state is reached. The evolution of a system coupled to a reservoir with a short memory is often described by a master equation for the reduced density operator of the system. Master equations are important in physics because of their generality and hence wide range of applicability [1].

New approach to solving master equations of density operator for the Jaynes Cummings model with cavity damping

Seyed, Mahmoud, Ashrafi +3 more

By introducing thermo-entangled state representation |η>, which can map master equations of density operator in quantum statistics as state-vector evolution equations, and using dissipative interaction picture we solve the master equation of Jaynes–Cummings model with cavity damping. In addition we derive the Wigner function for density operator when the atom is initially in the up state |↑> and the cavity mode is in coherent state.

Two-level system interacting with a finite-bandwidth thermal cavity mode

J. I. Cirac, Helmut Ritsch, P. Zoller

The interaction of a two-level system with a single quantized mode of the radiation field of finite bandwidth in a thermal state and coupled to background vacuum modes is considered theoretically. A hierarchy of equations for atom-field moments is derived and solved in terms of continued fractions. The population inversion, the spectrum of resonance fluorescence, and the photon statistics of the cavity mode are calculated.

Algebraic solution of master equations

Rangel, R., Carvalho, L.

We present a simple analytical method to solve master equations for finite temperatures and any initial conditions, which consists in the expansion of the density operator into normal modes. These modes and the expansion coefficients are obtained algebraically by using ladder superoperators. This algebraic technique is successful in cases in which the Liouville superoperator is quadratic in the creation and annihilation operators.
