Combined periodic wave and solitary wave solutions in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates

Shu-Fang Yao, Qiuyan Li, Zai-Dong Li

In this paper, the Jacobi elliptic function expansion method provides an effective approach to obtain the exact periodic wave solutions of two-component Bose-Einstein condensates. Exact combined bright-bright and dark-dark soliton wave solutions can be achieved in their limit conditions. We also obtain the different formation regions of combined solitons. Our results show that the intraspecies (interspecies) interaction strengths clearly affect the formation of dark-dark, bright-bright and dark-bright soliton solutions in different regions.

A generalized G G -expansion method is extended to construct exact solutions for the Gross-Pitaevskii equation with weak bias magnetic and time-dependent laser fields. Many types of exact solutions including hyperbolic function solution, trigonometric function solution and rational exact solution with parameters are obtained. In addition, soliton solutions are found.

Matter-wave solutions of Bose—Einstein condensates with three-body interaction in linear magnetic and time-dependent laser fields

Étienne Wamba, Timoléon Crépin Kofané, Alidou Mohamadou

We construct, through a further extension of the tanh-function method, the matter-wave solutions of Bose—Einstein condensates (BECs) with a three-body interaction. The BECs are trapped in a potential comprising the linear magnetic and the time-dependent laser fields. The exact solutions obtained include soliton solutions, such as kink and antikink as well as bright, dark, multisolitonic modulated waves. We realize that the motion and the shape of the solitary wave can be manipulated by controlling the strengths of the fields.

Using an inverse scattering method, we find the exact bright and dark soliton solutions of the nonlinear Gross-Pitaevskii equation with external potentials. We also investigate the nonlinear excitation of a Bose-Einstein condensate under external fields. We reveal an efficient means of controlling solitons in a Bose-Einstein condensate for use in future experiments.
