Abstract

The time evolution and the statistic characteristic of the light phase in the Tavis-Cummings (T-C) model of two identical two-level atoms coupled to a strong coherent light field are studied by means of the Pegg-Barnett phase theory. It is proved that the dipole-dipole interaction between atoms will lead to the frequency shift of light, the weakening of the degree of atom-field coupling and the restraint of light phase diffusion.

Quantum phase and dynamical properties of light in the Jaynes-Cummings model via phase coupling

Fan An-fu

It is pointed out here that quantum phase properties, as well as dynamical properties, of light exhibit a sensitivity to the relative phase between the atomic dipole and light when the atom is prepared in a coherent superposition of its states in the two-level Jaynes-Cummings model interacting with a coherent state of light. The existence of the coherent-trapping of light is demonstrated by looking not only at the variance of the light phase about the coherent state value, and the number-phase uncertainty relation, but also at the factorization of the electric-field operator, and the photon-number distribution. We find also the factorization expression of the compound state of the atom-field system. We show once more that the phase properties of light based on the phase operator formalism of Pegg-Barnett and the coherence properties of light based on the coherence theory of Glauber are complementary in description of the optical quantum coherence.

Influence of phase decoherence on entanglement of two atoms in multiphoton process

Zhang Dong-xia

By means of the quantum theory and negative eigenvalues of the partial transposition, properties of entanglement evolution in system of two two-level atoms coupled to a light field in the Fock state are investigated in the presence of phase decoherence in the multiphoton Tavis-Cumming Model. The influences of the phase decoherence coefficient,dipole-dipole coupling intensity and number of transitional photons on properties of entanglement evolution between two atoms were discussed. The results show that the phase decoherence doesn't destroy coherence completely but attenuates oscillated amplitude of the entanglement degree between two entangled atoms. With increasing of the dipole-dipole coupling intensity and number of transitional photons, the two entangled atoms approach the entanglement state in which there is a stable entanglement degree finally. The better coherences between two atoms are,the larger value of entanglement degree between two entangled atoms can be obtained, and state in the two entangled atoms are more stable.

Influence of Kerr Effect on the Phase of the Optical Fieldin the Nondegenerate Two-Photon Jaynes-Cummings Model

Hua Zhao

The property of phase evolution of the light field in the Nondegenerate two-photon Jaynes-Cummings Model surrounded by Kerr medium is investigated in term of the Pegg-Barnett phase theory. The results show that the Kerr offect plays a significant role in the frequency-shift of the fields. The quantum fluctuations of the phase of the light field spread with time. [WT5HZ]

Phase properties in the model of two coupling two-level atoms interacting with squeezed coherent light-field

Tao Xiang-yang

The phase properties in the system of the coupling two-level atoms interacting with squeezed coherent-state light-field is studied from the point of the Pegg-Barnett phase theory. The phase probability distribution and the phase fluctuation are investigated. Meanwhile, the influence of the field amplitude, the compressed parameter, and the coupling coefficient between atoms on the phase properties is also discussed. The results show that the phase probability distribution presents three-peak Gaussian configuration. The maximum of the phase probability distribution lies at the point of the zero phase arid the phase fluctuation is small, while at other place the value of the phase probability distribution is relatively small and vibrates easily. At the same time, because of the influence of light-field squeezing effect, the phase probability distribution is different from that of coherent-state field.

Time-evolution of the Atom's Occupancy in Multiphoton Tavis-Cummings Model

LU Dao-ming

Using Tavis-Cummings model, the evolution of the atom's occupancy in interaction of two coupling two-level atoms with the single mode coherent field through multiphoton transition is studied. The influences of coupling coefficient between atoms, the initial mean photon number of field and the degree of entanglement of two atoms on the evolution of the atom's occupancy are discussed. The results obtained by numerical calculations show that the initial mean photon number of field influences violently the evolution properties of the atom's occupancy, the influence of coupling coefficient between atoms may be neglected, and the degree of entanglement of two atoms influences the reverse of atoms.
