Abstract

We analyse the optical four-wave mixing operator S and relate it to the two-mode Fresnel operator. It is shown that the direct product of the two-mode Fresnel operator and the single-mode Fresnel operator has a natural representation on the basis of a three-mode entangled state, which is constructed by S and a beam splitter transform.

Four-mode coherent-entangled state and its application

Hongqi Li, Ting-Qi Ren, Yunhai Zhang +1 more

A new kind of four-mode continuous variable coherent-entangled state is proposed in the Fock space by using the technique of integration within an ordered product, which exhibits both the properties of a coherent state and an entangled state, and spans a complete and orthonormal representation. The conjugate state of the four-mode continuous variable coherent-entangled state is derived by using the Fourier transformation. Moreover, a simple experimental protocol of generating a four-mode continuous variable coherent-entangled state is proposed by using beam splitters. As applications of this four-mode continuous variable coherent-entangled state, a four-mode entangled state and a four-mode squeezing-Fresnel operator are constructed.

Adaption of optical Fresnel transform to optical Wigner transform

Cui-hong Lv, Hong-Yi Fan

Enlightened by the algorithmic isomorphism between the rotation of the Wigner distribution function (WDF) and the αth fractional Fourier transform, we show that the optical Fresnel transform performed on the input through an ABCD system makes the output naturally adapting to the associated Wigner transform, i.e. there exists algorithmic isomorphism between ABCD transformation of the WDF and the optical Fresnel transform. We prove this adaption in the context of operator language. Both the single-mode and the two-mode Fresnel operators as the image of classical Fresnel transform are introduced in our discussions, while the two-mode Wigner operator in the entangled state representation is introduced for fitting the two-mode Fresnel operator.

Decompositions of beam splitter operator and its entanglement function

Fang Jia, Xue-xiang Xu, Cunjin Liu +3 more

Beam splitter (BS) is a basic linear element in quantum optics, which plays an important role in preparation of entangled states and quantum measurement. On the basis of the transformation relation between operators at input ports and output ports, we derive the natural representations in different representations. Using the natural expression rather than SU(2) Lie algebra relation, as well as the technique of integration within ordered product (IWOP) of operator, we can conveniently and concisely derive the normally ordering form and exponential expression of BS operator. Many forms of decompositions for BS operator can also be directly obtained by its natural representation and the orthogonality of coordinate states. Furthermore, the entangled state representation and corresponding Schmidt decomposition can be conveniently obtained.

Representation of the coherent state for a beam splitter operator and its applications

Mingxia Zhan, Fang Jia, Jiali Huang +2 more

Abstract A beam splitter operator is a very important linear device in the field of quantum optics and quantum information. It can not only be used to prepare complete representations of quantum mechanics, entangled state representation, but it can also be used to simulate the dissipative environment of quantum systems. In this paper, by combining the transform relation of the beam splitter operator and the technique of integration within the product of the operator, we present the coherent state representation of the operator and the corresponding normal ordering form. Based on this, we consider the applications of the coherent state representation of the beam splitter operator, such as deriving some operator identities and entangled state representation preparation with continuous-discrete variables. Furthermore, we extend our investigation to two single and two-mode cascaded beam splitter operators, giving the corresponding coherent state representation and its normal ordering form. In addition, the application of a beam splitter to prepare entangled states in quantum teleportation is further investigated, and the fidelity is discussed. The above results provide good theoretical value in the fields of quantum optics and quantum information.
