Photon spectra and statistics in generalized Jaynes-Cummings model with photon losses and atom motion

Abstract

The Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM) of two-level atom interacting with the photon mode in ideal cavity plays an essential role in modern quantum optics. In previous papers 1,2 an exact form of density matrix of the JCM with fixed atom position and photons dissipation was found. Here, taking into account the classical motion of the atom through the cavity, it is considered a case of nonideal cavity with zero temperature. We have obtained an exact expression for density matrix and calculated photon spectra and spectra of the mean number of photons in a cavity and and time dependencies of some values relevant for the one-atom maser theory.

The Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM) of two-level atom interacting with the photon mode in ideal cavity plays an essential role in modern quantum optics. In previous papers an exact form of density matrix of the JCM with photons dissipation was found. In this article it is considered a partial case of cavity with zero temperature and obtained an exact expression for photon spectra and spectra of the mean number of photons in a cavity.

Exact solution of the Jaynes-Cummings model with relaxation

Alexander V. Gorokhov, Ilya E. Sinaiski

Exact analytical expression for the density matrix of atom + field system is obtained taking into account of the photons relaxation and frequency detuning (Jaynes-Cummings model with m-quantum transitions and dissipation). The photon mean number, atom population inversion and Fano Q - factor depending on initial states of the field and parameters of the one-atom maser are investigated.

Dynamics of the two-atom Jaynes-Cummings model with nondegenerate two-photon transitions

Eugene K. Bashkirov

An exact solution is found for the collective model of two identical two-level atoms that resonantly interact with a two-mode quantum electromagnetic field in an ideal cavity via two-photon nondegenerate transitions. In the case under study, at the initial moment, both field modes are in the coherent state and atoms are in the excited state. The time dependences of the atomic probabilities, the mean number of photons in the modes, and the statistics and squeezing of the photon modes are studied based on the exact solution.

Heisenberg Equations for Non-Degenerate Two-Photon Jaynes-Cummings Model with Dynamic Stark-Shifts

Kuniaki Matsuo, Hiroshi Iwasawa

One of the simplest models for the interactions between an atom and a quantized electromagnetic field is known as the Jaynes-Cummings model GCM) [1]. In this model, the atom is assumed to have two levels, and the electromagnetic field is a single mode. For the past several years, we have investigated the model for the singlephoton, the two-photon, and the multi-photon cases. First, we studied the characteristic functions and their time behaviors for a simple JCM[Z] using the density matrix approach, and then, by using the Heisenberg equation method, we exmined the degenerate two-photon JCM[31, where the operator differential equations and their solutions are obtained. We further studied the cases of the non-degenerate two-photon JCM[4] and the mUlti-photon JCM[51. Moreover, the atomic spectrum for mUlti-photon JCM[61 and the field spectrum for multiphoton JCM[71 were explored, and these spectra were presented in the 3-dimensional pictures. We also solved the degenerate two-photon JCM with Stark-shifts [8] , and further we just published the results of the non-degeneratetwo-photon JCM with Stark-shifts[91. In this paper, we show a derivaition of the product operator alZ ( t ) = al ( t ) az ( t ). We explicitly use the idea of the constant motion operator. Since the derivations are quite complicated and it is not streightword, we showed them in detail here. The present paper is organized as follows. In section II, we show the effective non-degenerate Hamiltonians and the constant of motion operators. In section Ill, the second-order differential equation for a product operator alZ ( t ) = al ( t ) az ( t) of Mode 1 and Mode 2, will

Statistics and light squeezing in the dissipative two-atom Jaynes-Cummings model

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Русакова Маргарита Сергеевна

The statistical and fluctuational properties of an electromagnetic field in a nonideal cavity are studied with the help of the collective two-atom Jaynes-Cummings model taking into account losses of photons and spontaneous radiation of atoms into bath modes. For the coherent state of the field and excited initial state of atoms, the general analytical expressions for the second-order field correlation function, the second-order squeezing parameters, and the squared field amplitude are obtained by solving the master equation for the density matrix. The statistics and the degree of squeezing of the cavity field mode are studied as functions of the initial field intensity and of the coefficients of the energy dissipation of the system. It is shown that, for the two-atom dissipative model, compared to the single-atom model, the type of field statistics can be changed and the maximal degree of short-term squeezing can be increased.

Two-photon emission spectrum of a two-level atom in an ideal cavity

Lin-sheng He, Xun‐Li Feng

The time-dependent two-photon emission spectra of a two-level atom interacting with a single-mode radiation field in an ideal cavity have been studied. The expressions of the system operators as a function of time have been derived based on the two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model and Heisenberg equation. As a result, the theoretical curves of the time-dependent two-photon emission spectra have been given. The features of two-photon emission spectra depend not only on the photon statistical distribution of the initial field, such as the thermal field, the squeezed vacuum field, and the coherent field, but also on the passband width of the filter detector \ensuremath{\Gamma}. The two-photon emission spectra exhibit multi- peaked structures when \ensuremath{\Gamma}(two-photon coupling constant).
