Abstract

The properties of the squeezed displaced Fock states (SDFS) superpositions are reviewed. The interaction of these states with a two-level atom in cavity with the presence of additional Kerr medium is studied. Exact general matrix elements of the time-dependent operators of a Jaynes–Cummings model (JCM), in the presence of a Kerr medium, with these states are derived. The atomic inversion and photon number distribution are discussed.

Phase Distribution of the Output of Jaynes-Cummings Model with the Superposition of Squeezed Displaced Fock States

G. M. Abd Al-Kader

The Wigner quasi-probability function for the superposition of squeezed displaced Fock states (SDFS's) is reviewed. The interaction of these states with a two-level atom in cavity with the presence of additional Kerr medium is studied. Exact general matrix elements of the time-dependent operators of a Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM), in the presence of a Kerr medium, with these states are derived. We have obtained the phase distribution by two different ways: one is by Pegg-Barnett formalism, the second is by integration of the Wigner function over the radial variable. Results of these two approaches are compared. The Wigner phase distributions for some values of parameters are illustrated. The behaviors of the distributions have been shown as a function of the squeeze parameter in JCM.

ENTROPY AND ENTANGLEMENT OF THE SUPERPOSITIONS OF DISPLACED FOCK STATES WITH A TWO-LEVEL ATOM

G. M. Abd Al-Kader

The properties of the displaced Fock states (DFS's) superpositions are reviewed. The interaction of these states with a two-level atom in cavity with the presence of additional Kerr medium is studied. Exact general matrix elements of the time-dependent operators of a Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM), in the presence of a Kerr medium, with these states are derived. The atomic inversion and photon number distribution are discussed. The quantum entropy and the entanglement of the atom-field are investigated. The exact results are employed to perform a careful investigation of the temporal evolution of the entropy. The connection between the field entropy and the collapses and revivals of the atomic inversion has been established. The general conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.

Properties of Superposit ion of Displaced Number States and Their Interaction with Two-Level Atoms

Wang XiaoGuang

We obtain the compact form of matrix elements of displacement operator between number states which is convenient for numerical computations by invoking the generalized Hypergeometric functions. The nonclassical properties of superposition of displaced number states and generation of them in Kerr medium are studied in detail. The evolution of atomic population inversion in the intensity-dependent Jaynes?Cummings model with the present superposition states as its input is also investigated.

Aspects of the Two-Level Atom in Squeezed Displaced Fock States

A.‐S. F. Obada, G M Abdal-Kader, Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty

This paper presents some results on aspects of the two-level atom interacting with a single-mode with the privileged field mode being in the squeezed displaced Fock state (SDFS). The exact results are employed to perform a careful investigation of the temporal evolution of the atomic inversion, entropy and phase distribution. It is shown that the interference between component states leads to non-classical oscillations in the photon number distribution. At the revival time the field is again in the pure state. We have briefly discussed the collapses and revivals of the atomic inversion by studing the evolution of the Q function of the cavity field. We also established the connection between the field entropy and the collapses and revivals of the atomic inversion. We find that the phase probability distribution of the field reflects the collapses and revivals of the level occupation probabilities in most situations. The interaction brings about the symmetrical splitting of the phase probability distribution. The general conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.

Entropy squeezing and atomic inversion in the k -photon Jaynes—Cummings model in the presence of the Stark shift and a Kerr medium: A full nonlinear approach

H R Baghshahi, M K Tavassoly, A Behjat

The interaction between a two-level atom and a single-mode field in the k -photon Jaynes—Cummings model (JCM) in the presence of the Stark shift and a Kerr medium is studied. All terms in the Hamiltonian, such as the single-mode field, its interaction with the atom, the contribution of the Stark shift and the Kerr medium effects are considered to be f -deformed. In particular, the effect of the initial state of the radiation field on the dynamical evolution of some physical properties such as atomic inversion and entropy squeezing are investigated by considering different initial field states (coherent, squeezed and thermal states).
