An extended Hubbard model with inter-site attraction in two dimensions and high-Tcsuperconductivity

R. Micnas, J. Ranninger, S. Robaszkiewicz

The authors study a simple model for superconductivity based on an extended Hubbard model with on-site repulsive and inter-site attractive interaction for arbitrary electron density. The two-dimensional square lattice d-wave pairing is most stable for a nearly half-filled band. p-wave and then extended s-wave pairing become stable upon decreasing band filling. Competition between the various anisotropic pairings and antiferromagnetism as well as the effect of next-nearest-neighbour hopping is discussed. The authors relate the present model to high-T c superconducting oxides.

Stability ofs+id-Wave Pairing State in the 2-D Extended Hubbard Model

Hiroki Tsuchiura, Yukio Tanaka, Yasunari Ushijima

Coexistence of the s and d x 2 - y 2 -wave ( d -wave) pairing is investigated in the two-dimensional (2-D) extended Hubbard model with on-site repulsive and inter-site attractive interactions using the mean-field approximation at T=0 K. The next-nearest-neighbor hopping effect can induce the coexistence of the s and d-wave pairing. It is found that in such a case, s + i d -wave pairing state becomes most stable.

Spin-density wave and superconductivity in an extended two-dimensional Hubbard model with nearest-neighbor attraction

W. P. Su, Yan Chen

We study the interplay of antiferromagnetic and superconducting orders in a two-dimensional Hubbard model with on-site repulsion and nearest-neighbor attractive interaction. This type of interaction has been widely used to model d-wave superconductivity. Our mean-field calculations indicate that such an attractive interaction enhances the staggered magnetization produced by the on-site repulsion. As a result, superconductivity is strongly suppressed. Stripe formation is also affected.
