Abstract

We propose a scheme to generate four Bell states and a four-atom entangled cluster state in a thermal cavity. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled with the assistance of a strong classical field. The cavity field is only virtually excited; no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field. The scheme can also be used to generate the cluster state for the trapped ions.

Preparation of the four-qubit cluster states in cavity QED and the trapped-ion system

This paper proposes a simple scheme to generate a four-atom entangled cluster state in cavity quantum electrodynamics. With the assistantce of a strong classical field the cavity is only virtually excited and no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity during the preparation for a four-atom entangled cluster state, and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. Assuming that deviation of laser intensity is 0.01 and that of simultaneity for the interaction is 0.01, it shows that the fidelity of the resulting four-atom entangled cluster state is about 0.9886. The scheme can also be used to generate a four-ion entangled cluster state in a hot trapped-ion system. Assuming that deviation of laser intensity is 0.01, it shows that the fidelity of the resulting four-ion entangled cluster state is about 0.9990. Experimental feasibility for achieving this scheme is also discussed.

Generation of entangled states for many multilevel atoms in a thermal cavity and ions in thermal motion

Shi-Biao Zheng

We propose a scheme for generating entangled states for two or more multilevel atoms in a thermal cavity. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled with the assistance of a strong classical field. Thus the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and the thermal field. The scheme does not require individual addressing of the atoms in the cavity. The scheme can also be used to generate entangled states for many hot multilevel ions.

Scheme for Generating a χ-Type Four-Atom Entangled State in Cavity QED

Lin Xiu

We propose a scheme for generating a χ-type four-atom entangled state in cavity QED. In the present scheme, the atoms interact simultaneously with a highly detuned cavity mode with the assistance of a strong classical field. The scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field, which is of importance from the experimental point of view.

Generation of Maximally Entangled States for Many Two-Level Atoms in a Thermal Cavity

Chunlei Jiang, Mao-Fa Fang

We propose a scheme for generating maximally entangled states for two or more two-level atoms in a thermal cavity. The cavity frequency is large-detuned from the atomic transition frequency, so the Hamiltonian can be expressed as an effective form. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are cancelled with the assistance of a strong classical field, thus the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and the thermal field. The scheme can be used to generate multi-atom Bell-state and Greenberger–Horne–Zeiliner (GHZ) state.

Generation of cluster states in thermal cavity

Meifeng Chen, Songshe Ma, Xiaolan Zhang

A scheme is reported for generating a multi-atom cluster state in thermal cavities, which is based on the simultaneous interaction of two two-level atoms with a single-mode cavity field driven by a classical field. The photon-number-dependent parts in the evolution operator are cancelled with the assistant of a strong classical field, so the scheme is insensitive to the thermal field. In the present scheme, the detuning between the atoms and the cavity is equal to the atom-cavity coupling strength, thus the operation speed is greatly improved, which is important in view of decoherence.

EFFICIENT TELEPORTATION OF UNKNOWN ATOMIC ENTANGLED STATES

Yan Zhao, Ming Yang, Zhuo‐Liang Cao

We propose a scheme for teleporting unknown atomic entangled states in cavity QED. With the assistance of a strong classical field, the photon number dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled. Thus, the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity decay and the thermal field. In addition, our scheme does not require the Bell-state measurement directly and the success probability can reach 1.0 in our scheme.
