Abstract

In this work we present optical setups for a polarization encoded qubit, based only on common linear optical devices, which implement probabilistic bipartite and tripartite entanglement generation, as well probabilistic quantum teleportation. The setups can be implemented with current technology and they permit the realization of several quantum communication protocols.

Quantum Communication With Polarization-Encoded Qubit Using Quantum Error Correction

Daniel Barbosa de Brito, José Cláudio do Nascimento, Rubens Viana Ramos

One of the most promising physical properties for implementation of quantum technology is light polarization. However, since light polarization is a fragile property, the use of quantum error correction (QEC) is a crucial issue in order to make quantum information over optical network feasible. In this direction, this paper discusses optical setups for quantum error correction in quantum communication setups based on light polarization. In particular, we show how to use the QEC setup to provide error-free entanglement distribution and its use in an error-free probabilistic teleportation setup. Then, we discuss the performance of the error-correction setup in a very noisy channel. Finally, we show that the same QEC setup can also be used to correct bipartite of qubit states.

Systems of quantum communication with linear optical

Daniel Barbosa de Brito

In this dissertation it is considered a quantum error correction system for coherent states of light and a complete optical system for probabilistic teleportation of single-photon polarization encoded qubit. Initially, the quantum error correction with the use of redundancy is analyzed. After that, it is presented a form of error correction using time-bin qubit without redundancies. Based on this last approach, a passive quantum error correction system, that is, without external control and synchronization, for quantum communication system employing coherent states, using only linear optical devices, is proposed. It is shown that the quantum error correction system also works for bipartite states of qubits. Following, the teleportation of quantum states is analyzed and an optical system for probabilistic teleportation of single-photon polarization encoded qubit, using only linear optical devices, is proposed. Finally, the error correction and teleportation topics are put together in the proposal of a probabilistic teleportation system using an error correction system for distribution of the entangled pair of photons

Demonstration of Controlled Quantum Teleportation for Discrete Variables on Linear Optical Devices

Artur Barasiński, Antonín Černoch, Karel Lemr

We report an experimental implementation of tripartite controlled quantum teleportation on quantum optical devices. The protocol is performed through bi- and tripartite entangled channels of discrete variables and qubits encoded in the polarization of individual photons. The experimental results demonstrate successful controlled quantum teleportation with a fidelity around 83%, well above the classical limit. By realizing the controlled quantum teleportation through a biseparable state, we show that tripartite entanglement is not a necessary resource for controlled quantum teleportation, and the controller's capability to allow or prohibit the teleportation cannot be considered to be a manifestation of tripartite entanglement. These results open new possibilities for further application of controlled quantum teleportation by lowering the teleportation channel's requirements.

Rubens Viana Ramos, Paulo Benicio Melo de Sousa

In this work, we propose two optical setups for two-players, non-zero and zero sum, quantum games in optical networks using light polarization of single-photon pulses, single-photon detectors and linear optical devices. The optical setups proposed can be easily implemented permitting a fast experimental realization of quantum games with present technology.

Scheme for Realizing Probabilistic Teleportation of Bipartite Photonic States via Linear Optical Elements

Dong Ping, Lin Ji-Cheng, Yang Ming +1 more

We propose a probabilistic scheme for realizing teleportation of bipartite photonic states using linear optical elements where only requires a two-photon Bell state used as quantum channel. It reduces the requirement of the entanglement of quantum channel, but requires an additional photon and an auxiliary maximally entangled photon pair locally.
