By means of the exact-diagonalization method we have studied the finite-size two-band model with the interband pair-transfer interaction by calculating the superconducting (SC) correlation function P s etc. in the ground state. Occurrence of SC was clearly indicated by the increase of P s . The diagram of the observed SC region was constructed in the plane of the relative position of the second band versus on-site Coulomb energy U . In the low-density limit it proved close to the region where a negative- U situation is realized by the pair-transfer interaction. On the high-density side, the SC region was found to be more extended than the latter in accord with the previous interband-ladder-diagram results. Inclusion of the exchange interaction was found to reduce the SC region in a restricted region where two bands substantially share electrons. The two-band situations in cuprates are argued to be relevant to the high T c through the present mechanism.
Using exact numerical methods, we study the interplay between p-wave superconductivity and off-diagonal modulation in the incommensurate off-diagonal Aubry-André model with p-wave pairing. When chemical potential is zero, the modulation not only leads to an Anderson-like localization with all bulk states changing into critical ones, but also induces a topological phase transition accompanying the disappearing of exponentially localized zero-energy edge Majorana fermions. These two transitions happen at different places and true Anderson localization is absent. With a finite chemical potential, the quasi-periodicity of the modulation causes band splitting and drives the system into a band insulator phase. It has a fixed incommensurate particle density which is determined by the modulation frequency. Phase diagrams are identified, and can be tested with existing proposals for experimental realizations of the effective off-diagonal disorder and the p-wave pairing.
We investigate the ground-state phase diagram of the two-dimensional Hubbard model based on the optimization variational Monte Carlo method. We use a wave function that is an off-diagonal type given as
ψ=exp(−λK)PGψ0, where
ψ0 is a one-particle state,
PG is the Gutzwiller operator,
K is the kinetic operator, and
λ is a variational parameter. The many-body effect plays an important role as an origin of spin correlation and superconductivity in correlated electron systems. We examine the competition between the antiferromagnetic state and superconducting state by varying the Coulomb repulsion
U, the band parameter
t′ and the electron density
ne. We show a phase diagram that includes superconducting and antiferromagnetic phases and that
t′=0 is most favorable for superconductivity.
