Abstract

Based on a recent definition of a measure for entanglement [Plenio and Vedral, Contemp. Phys. 39, 431 (1998)], examples of maximum entangled states are presented. The construction of such states, which have symmetry SU(1,1) and SU(2), follows the guidance of thermofield dynamics formalism.

Caculating the relative entropy of entanglement

Shengjun Wu, Yongde Zhang

We extend Vedral and Plenio's theorem (theorem 3 in Phys. Rev. A 57, 1619) to a more general case, and obtain the relative entropy of entanglement for a class of mixed states.

Quantum Entanglement in Coupled Lossy Waveguides Using SU(2) and SU(1, 1) Thermo-Algebras

Naveen Kumar Mogurampally, K. V. S. Shiv Chaitanya, Bindu A. Bambah

In this paper, the master equation for the coupled lossy waveguides is solved using the thermofield dynamics (TFD) formalism. This formalism allows the use of the underlying symmetry algebras SU(2) and SU(1, 1), associated with the Hamiltonian of the coupled lossy waveguides, to compute entanglement and decoherence as a function of time for various input states such as NOON states and thermal states.

Thermodynamics and the measure of entanglement

Sandu Popescu, Daniel Rohrlich

We point out formal correspondences between thermodynamics and entanglement. By applying them to previous work, we show that entropy of entanglement is the unique measure of entanglement for pure states.

ENTANGLEMENT ENTROPY OF SYMMETRICAL STATES

This work explores quantum correlations in permutationally and translationally invariant wave functions. We show that the entanglement entropy of these states is determined by means of classical mutual information.
