Abstract

An experimentally realizable physical scheme for preparing multiqubit cluster states from a large detuned atom–cavity interaction is proposed. The scheme is free of any type of measurement and insensitive to the cavity decay, and the cavity field is only virtually excited so that there is no information exchanging between atom and cavity. The time required for the gate operations is very short, which is important for decoherence. We also discuss the experimental feasibility of our scheme.

Efficient scheme of quantum SWAP gate and multi-atom cluster state via cavity QED

Chunlei Jiang, Mao-Fa Fang, Yao-Hua Hu

In this paper, we propose a physical scheme to realize quantum SWAP gate by using a large-detuned single-mode cavity field and two identical Rydberg atoms. It is shown that the scheme can also be used to create multi-atom cluster state. During the interaction between atom and cavity, the cavity is only virtually excited and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. With the help of our scheme it is very simple to prepare the N -atom cluster state with perfect fidelity and probability. The practical feasibility of this method is also discussed.

Generation of Two-Atom Cluster State via Cavity QED

Shao-Hua Xiang, Kehui Song

We propose a physical scheme for generating a two-atom cluster state through the simultaneous interaction of two two-level atoms with a single-mode cavity field prepared initially in an odd-coherent state under a large-detuned limit. The influence of the dissipation constant, the intensity of the field and the imperfect manipulation on the preparation scheme are investigated. It is shown that when the intensity of the cavity is large enough, the influence of the cavity decay is efficiently suppressed. The possible error in the implementation of the cluster state is negligible when the time difference between two atoms crossing the cavity axis is small. It is suggested that the scheme can be realized by current technologies.

Generation of N-qubit cluster states via nonresonant cavity and classical field

Ye Liu

A simple experimental scheme to generate N-qubit atom cluster states is proposed. The task can be realized through the interaction between two three-level atoms within a nonresonant cavity and meanwhile driven by a classical field.During the interaction time, the cavity field is only virtually excited, and no quantum information transfer between the atoms and the cavity is required. The scheme is implemented without any measurement.Time of implemenation of the protocol does not change with the increase of the number of qubits. Our scheme can be realized under current technology.

Generation of four-atom cluster states in thermal cavity and implementing remote controlled not gate

Rong‐Can Yang, Hongcai Li, Meixiang Chen +1 more

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme for preparing a four-atom cluster state in a thermal cavity. In the scheme, the cavity field is only virtually excited and the photon-number-dependent part in the effective Hamiltonian is cancelled so that the system is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field. At the same time, the scheme can be generalized to prepare n -atom cluster states with the success probability 100%. In addition, using the four-atom cluster state, we also propose a simpler scheme for implementing a remote-controlled not gate (CNOT) without the Bell states measurement.

Preparation of a New Type of Multiqubit Entangled States in Cavity QED

Xiong Wen-yuan, Xin-Wen Wang, Li-Xin Xia

Recently Yang, Chu, and Han [Phys. Rev. A 70 (2004) 022329] presented a new type of multipartite entangled states for implementing efficient many-party controlled teleportation of multiqubit quantum information. Here we propose a simple scheme for preparing such a type of multi-atom entangled states in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). The scheme involves atom-cavity interaction with large detuning, and is immune to the cavity decay and the thermal field states. Some practical analyses show its availability with the present technology.

Possible Realization of Cluster States and Quantum Information Transfer in Cavity QED via Raman Transition

Zhiming Zhan, Weibin Li

We present a scheme to generate cluster states with many atoms in cavity QED via Raman transition. In this scheme, no transfer of quantum information between the atoms and cavities is required, the cavity fields are only virtually excited and thus the cavity decay is suppressed during the generation of cluster states. The atoms are always populated in the two ground states. Therefore, the scheme is insensitive to the atomic spontaneous emission and cavity decay. We also show how to transfer quantum information from one atom to another.
