Monte Carlo study of the mean-field theory of the three-dimensional anisotropicXYmodel

Hans Werner Weber, Henrik Jeldtoft Jensen

We use Monte Carlo simulations of a two-dimensional XY model in a magnetic field to study a self-consistent mean-field theory for the three-dimensional anisotropic XY model. The relation between the critical temperature ${\mathit{T}}_{\mathit{c}}$ and the interplane coupling ${\mathit{J}}_{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\perp}}}$ is determined. The magnetization exponent \ensuremath{\beta} is discussed and results for the specific heat ${\mathit{c}}_{\mathit{v}}$ are presented.

The critical behaviour of the three-dimensional dilute Ising model : universality and the Harris criterion

Jian‐Sheng Wang, Debashish Chowdhury

Monte Carlo simulation of quenched site-diluted three-dimensional Ising model has been carried out using the Swendsen-Wang algorithm. The susceptibility exponent and the correlation length exponent are estimated to be γ = 1.52 ± 0.07, v = 0.77 ± 0.04, respectively, for all p c < p < 1, where p is the concentration of the spins. In contrast to some earlier work, our results strongly support the concept of universality.

We use Monte Carlo simulations of a two-dimensional XY model in a magnetic field to study a self-consistent mean-field theory for the three-dimensional anisotropic XY model. The relation between the critical temperature Tc{\mathit{T}}_{\mathit{c}}Tc and the interplane coupling ${\mathit{J}}_{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\perp}}}$ is determined. The magnetization exponent \ensuremath{\beta} is discussed and results for the specific heat cv{\mathit{c}}_{\mathit{v}}cv are presented.
