We analyze the performance of a degenerate vector PSA-based receiver and compare to an EDFA-based receiver, achieving an about 1 dB sensitivity improvement. We also assess the phase regeneration provided by the vector PSA when the signal phase is degraded.

We show that sidebands entailed by phase sensitive amplification significantly increase the parametric de-amplification. The resultant gain extinction ratio was 30 dB with less than 22-dBm pump power, which enables an efficient phase regenerator.
