Abstract

We derive an explicit formula for the resolvent of a class of one-particle, many-center, local Hamiltonians. This formula gives, in particular, a full description of a model molecule given by point interactions at n arbitrarily placed fixed centers in three dimensions. It also gives a three−dimensional analog of the Kronig–Penney model.

An exactly soluble three-body problem in one dimension

Christof Jung

An exactly soluble one-dimensional three-body problem is presented, in which the interaction between the particles consists of local two-body potentials between each two particles. Infinitely high step functions are chosen for the form of the three potential functions. This interaction allows only three-body bound states and no continuum states. We have considered three different choices of the mass ratios of the three particles and we give formulas in closed form for the energies and for the wavefunctions of all states.

A class of exactly soluble many-body Hamiltonians

Antonio Redondo

A class of exactly soluble N-particle Hamiltonians is presented. The matrix representation of these Hamiltonians, which consists of one- and two-body interactions, is block diagonal. The blocks consist of a finite-dimensional matrices which can be easily diagonalized. An example for a system with two particles is discussed.

Spin-dependent point potentials in one and three dimensions

Claudio Cacciapuoti, Raffaele Carlone, Rodolfo Figari

We consider a system realized with one spinless quantum particle and an array of N spins 1/2 in dimensions 1 and 3. We characterize all the Hamiltonians obtained as point perturbations of assigned free dynamics in terms of some generalized boundary conditions. For every boundary condition, we give the explicit formula for the resolvent of the corresponding Hamiltonian. We discuss the problem of locality and give two examples of spin-dependent point potentials that could be of interest as multi-component solvable models.

Point interaction Hamiltonians in bounded domains

Ph. Blanchard, R. Figari, Andrea Mantile

Making use of recent techniques in the theory of self-adjoint extensions of symmetric operators, we characterize the class of point interaction Hamiltonians in a three-dimensional bounded domain with regular boundaries. In the particular case of one point interaction acting in the center of a ball, we obtain an explicit representation of the point spectrum of the operator together with the corresponding eigenfunctions. These operators are used to build up a model system where the dynamics of a quantum particle depends on the state of a quantum bit.

Derivation of the time-dependent propagator for the three-dimensional Schrodinger equation with one point interaction

Sergio Scarlatti, Alessandro Teta

An explicit formula for the time-dependent propagator of the Schrodinger equation with one point interaction in three dimensions is given. The derivation is based on the inverse Laplace transformation applied to the corresponding resolvent.
