Abstract

Based on the revised geometric measure of entanglement (RGME) proposed by us [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 40 (2007) 3507], we obtain the RGME of multipartite state including three-qubit GHZ state, W state, and the generalized Smolin state (GSS) in the presence of noise and the two-mode squeezed thermal state. Moreover, we compare their RGME with geometric measure of entanglement (GME) and relative entropy of entanglement (RE). The results indicate RGME is an appropriate measure of entanglement. Finally, we define the Gaussian GME which is an entangled monotone.

Revised geometric measure of entanglement

Ya Cao, An Min Wang

We present a revised geometric measure of entanglement (RGME) which is just certain generalization of geometric measure of entanglement (GME). The revised version is an entanglement monotone. Some useful inequalities about RGME are deduced. For example, we give the formulae of RGME for the two-parameter class of states in a 2 ⊗ n quantum system, the two particles' high dimensional maximally entangled mixed state, the isotropic state including the n -particle d-level case and two multipartite bound entangled states. The results show there is a relation , and then RGME is an appropriate measure of entanglement.

基于我们建议的纠纷(RGME ) 的修订几何措施[J。Phys。A:数学。Theor。

Geometric measure of entanglement compared to measures based on fidelity

Alexander Streltsov

One of the biggest problems in the theory of quantum information is the quantification of amount of entanglement in an arbitrary multipartite mixed state. Different axiomatic and operational measures were proposed so far. In this work we will establish a connection between geometric measure of entanglement proposed in [Phys. Rev. A 68, 042307 (2003)] and measures based on fidelity. One result will be, that geometric and revised geometric measure of entanglement proposed in [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 40, 3507 (2007)] are equal. Further a useful expression for fidelity is derived.

Genuine Multipartite Entanglement Measure Based on $α$-concurrence

Keke Wang, Zhi-Wei Wei, Shao-Ming Fei

Quantifying genuine entanglement is a crucial task in quantum information theory. Based on the geometric mean of bipartite $α$-concurrences among all bipartitions, we present a class of well-defined genuine multipartite entanglement (GME) measures G$α$C with one parameter $α$ for arbitrary multipartite states. We show that the G$α$C is of continuity for any multipartite pure states. By utilizing the related symmetry, analytical results of G$α$C are derived for any $n$-qubit GHZ states and W states, which show that the GHZ states are more genuinely entangled than the W states. With explicit examples, we demonstrate that the G$α$C can distinguish different GME states that other GME measures fail to. These results justify the potential applications of G$α$C in characterizing genuine multipartite entanglements.

Computable genuine multimode entanglement measure: Gaussian versus non-Gaussian

Saptarshi Roy, Tamoghna Das, Aditi Sen

Genuine multimode entanglement in continuous variable systems can be quantified by exploring the geometry of the state space, namely, via the generalized geometric measure (GGM). It is defined by the shortest distance of a given multimode state from a nongenuinely multimode entangled state. For the multimode Gaussian states, we derive a closed-form expression of GGM in terms of the symplectic eigenvalues of the reduced states. Following that prescription, the characteristics of GGM for typical three- and four-mode Gaussian states are investigated. In the non-Gaussian paradigm, we compute GGM for photon-added as well as -subtracted states having three and four modes and find that both addition and subtraction of photons enhance the genuine multimode entanglement of the state compared to its Gaussian counterpart. Our analysis reveals that, when an initial three-mode vacuum state is evolved according to an interacting Hamiltonian, photon addition is more beneficial in increasing GGM compared to photon subtraction, while the scenario reverses when one considers the four mode non-Gaussian states. Specifically, subtracting photons from four-mode squeezed vacuum states almost always results in higher multimode entanglement content than that of photon addition to both single as well as multimode and constrained as well as unconstrained operations. Furthermore, we observe that GGM freezes under subtraction of photons involving multiple modes, in some specific cases. This feature does not appear while adding photons. Finally, we relate the enhancements of GGM with the distance-based non-Gaussianity measure.

Additivity and non-additivity of multipartite entanglement measures

Huangjun Zhu, Lin Chen, Masahito Hayashi

We study the additivity property of three multipartite entanglement measures, i.e. the geometric measure of entanglement (GM), the relative entropy of entanglement and the logarithmic global robustness. Firstly, we show the additivity of GM of multipartite states with real and non-negative entries in the computational basis. Many states of experimental and theoretical interest have this property, e.g. Bell diagonal states, maximally correlated generalized Bell diagonal states, generalized Dicke states, the Smolin state and the generalization of Dür's multipartite bound entangled states. We also prove the additivity of the other two measures for some of these examples. Secondly, we show the non-additivity of GM of all antisymmetric states of three or more parties. We also provide a unified explanation of the non-additivity of the three measures of the antisymmetric projector states. In addition, we derive analytical formulae for the three measures of one copy and two copies of the antisymmetric projector states, respectively. Thirdly, we show, with a statistical approach, that almost all multipartite pure states with a sufficiently large number of parties are nearly maximally entangled with respect to GM and relative entropy of entanglement, and they have non-additive GM. Hence, more states may be suitable for universal quantum computation if measurements can be performed on two copies of the resource states. We also show that almost all the multipartite pure states cannot be produced reversibly with the combination of multipartite GHZ states under asymptotic LOCC, unless the relative entropy of entanglement is non-additive for generic multipartite pure states.
