Abstract

The temporal behaviour of the V configuration of a three-level two-mode system is investigated with the two modes initially in a coherent state. The photon number, atomic inversion, reduced atomic fluctuations, squeezing in the field quadratures, cross-correlation between the photon numbers in the two modes, and finally bunching and antibunching effects are investigated. A relation between squeezing and cross-correlation is established.

Photon antibunching effect in the system of two-mode entangled coherent states interacting with a moving V-type three-level atom

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

By means of solving Schrdinger equation and numerical calculations, photon bunching and antibunching effect in the system of the two-mode entangled coherent states interacting with a moving V-type three-level atom is investigated. The results indicate that the effect of photon bunching and antibunching in the system intensively depend on mean photon numbers of the two-mode entangled coherent states and the speed of the atom. For a special mean photon number, the velocity of atom will afftect the effect of photon bunching and antibunching intensively. For those relatively large mean photon numbers, the initial state of the atom and the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent states have no influences on the effect of photon bunching and antibunching. For those relatively small mean photon numbers, the initial state of the atom and the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent states only have slight influences on the effect of photon bunching and antibunching.

Quantum properties in the system of atom interacting with twomode cavity

LI Rui-q

We consider the system which is composed of a two-level atom and a two-mode cavity, and two modes are coupled in the cavity. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given. The squeezing, antibunching effect and the photon number statistical distribution of two-mode field are investigated.First, through calculating the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the field,we get that a-mode and b-mode of two-mode field do not both display squeezing.Second,by calculating second-order correlation function of two-mode field, the results show that a-mode and b-mode of two-mode field both display antibunching effects, and there is anti-correlation between the two modes.Third,by means of the numerical calculations,we plot evolution curves of Mandel Q function for different values of the coupling constants between two modes.Through comparing these curves, the influence of coupling constant between two modes on the photon number statistical distribution of the field is discussed. The evolution curves of Mandel Q function show that the two-mode cavity field displays sub-Poisson distribution. Moreover, the sub-Poisson distribution is weakened with increasing of the coupling constant between two modes.

Light squeezing of the system of the two-mode entangled coherent state field interacting with a V-type three-level atom

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

By solution of Schrodinger equation and numerical calculations, the light squeezing effects in the system of the two-mode entangled coherent state optical field interacting with a V-type three-level atom was discussed. The results indicate that the light squeezing effects depend on the degree of entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent state optical field, the detuning, mean photon numbers and atomic initial state.

Photons Correlation Properties of Two-mode Squeezed Field Interacting with a V-type Moving Atom

Duo Zhang, Lin Shu-yuan

two-mode squeezed vacuum field interacting with a V-type three-level moving atom is investigated. We can get analytic expressions of second-order correlation function and two-mode correlation function. The influence of atomic motion, the field structure and intensity of photons on second-order correlation function and two-mode correlation function are obtained by numerical calculation. The results indicate that correlation function and photon bunching increase obviously when intensity of photons increase; photon bunching and antibunching don't change when atomic motion and the field structure increase, but the period of photon bunching and antibunching reduce greatly.

Statistical properties of photons in a three-level plus two-mode model

Nikolay N. Bogolubov, Fam Le Kien, A.S. Shumovsky

The characteristics of the photon statistical properties are studied in a soluble three-level plus two-mode model. The model consists of a single lambda-configuration three-level emitter interacting with two modes of the quantized radiation field, the emitter being initially in the lowest level. The normally ordered variances of the photon numbers and the cross-correlation function are calculated All the results are obtained without using perturbation theory and decorrelation approximations. It is shown that the states of the signal-mode field produced from its initial vacuum are sub-Poissonian for all times. For the case when both the signal-mode and pump-mode fields are initially in the Glauber coherent states the temporal behaviour of the photon statistical characteristics are described Under suitable conditions photon antibunching and anticorrelation between the modes are potentially possible in the system.

The Quantum Properties of the System of Two-Mode SU(1,1) Coherent States Interacting with Bose-Einstein Condensate of V-type Three-Level Atoms

Sun Chang-yong

The quantum properties and amplitude-squared squeezing effects of light field are studied in the system of two-mode SU(1,1) coherent states interacting with Bose-Einstein Condensate of V-type three-level atoms, and the squeezing properties of atomic laser have also been discussed. The results show that the quantum correlation properties of light field keep invariant in the process of interaction between light field and atomic BEC,and the photons of each mode produce antibunching effect. The correlation between the two modes shows the non-classical correlation in the process of interaction. There are amplitude-squared squeezing effects in these quantum states. The influence of field parameter and atom parameter on the depth and duration of squeezing are investigated. The two-mode atomic laser can be squeezed, but it is difficult to squeeze. The degree of squeezing is determined by initial light field.
