Nonstationary quantum systems and entanglement in the tomographic-probability representation

Vladimir I. Man’ko

Time-dependent integrals of motion for systems with both time-independent and time-dependent Hamiltonians are studied and expressed in terms of the evolution operator. The probability representation in which the system quantum states are described by tomographic probabilities (tomograms), is reviewed. Examples of systems of parametric oscillators and the entanglement phenomena induced by time-dependent coupling of the oscillators are discussed. Transition probabilities between the energy levels of parametric oscillators expressed in terms of special functions like Laguerre and Legendre polynomials are given in terms of tomographic probabilities.

Moyal and tomographic probability representations for f-oscillator quantum states

Vladimir I. Man’ko, Giuseppe Marmo, F. Zaccaria

States of nonlinear quantum oscillators (f-oscillators) are considered in the Weyl–Wigner–Moyal representation and the tomographic probability representation, where the states are described by standard probability distributions instead of wave functions or density matrices. The evolving integrals of motion for classical and quantum f-oscillators are found and the solution for the Liouville equation associated with the probability distribution on the phase space for this oscillator is obtained along with the solution of the Moyal equation for the quantum f-oscillator, which provide solutions for the partial case of f-nonlinearity existing in Kerr media. Nonlinear coherent states and the thermodynamics of nonlinear oscillators are studied.

Sudden change in the equilibrium position and oscillator quantum transitions in the tomographic representation

Elena D. Zhebrak, Vladimir I. Man’ko

The transition probabilities during instantaneous change in the quantum oscillator equilibrium position are studied in the tomographic representation. A comparison with the known Franck-Condon factors obtained by calculating the wave function overlap integrals is performed. Explicit expressions for symplectic and optical tomograms are derived, as well as the generating function for overlap integrals of symplectic tomograms defining the transition probabilities in the oscillator, caused by the driving force.
