Entanglement monogamy in a three-qubit state

Abstract

We investigate the monogamy nature of entanglement in a three-qubit system. A monogamy inequality is presented to describe the exclusive relation between the $A\text{\ensuremath{-}}B$ two-qubit concurrence ${C}_{AB}$ and the $AB\text{\ensuremath{-}}C$ three-qubit concurrence ${C}_{(AB)C}$, which represents the entanglement between qubits $\mathit{A}$ and $\mathit{B}$ as a whole and the third qubit $\mathit{C}$. It is found that the entanglement between any two qubits in a three-qubit system is limited by the entanglement between these two qubits and another qubit. As a consequence, we present the upper bounds for the concurrence ${C}_{AB}$, when the concurrence between qubits $\mathit{A}$ and $\mathit{C}$ $({C}_{AC})$ and the concurrence between qubits $\mathit{B}$ and $\mathit{C}$ $({C}_{BC})$ are both given or one of the two is provided.

Multipartite monogamy of the concurrence

Marcio F. Cornelio

The monogamy of entanglement is generally discussed using a bipartite entanglement measure as an upper bound. Here we discuss a new kind of monogamous relation where the upper bound is given by a multipartite measure of entanglement, the generalized concurrence. We show a monogamous equality involving the multipartite concurrence, all the bipartite concurrences, and the genuine tripartite entanglement for pure three-qubit systems. The result extends to mixed states in an inequality involving the generalized concurrence and all the bipartite concurrences. We provide a counterexample showing that the result cannot be extended for systems with more than three qubits.

Linear monogamy of entanglement in three-qubit systems

Feng Liu, Fei Gao, Qiaoyan Wen

For any three-qubit quantum systems ABC, Oliveira et al. numerically found that both the concurrence and the entanglement of formation (EoF) obey the linear monogamy relations in pure states. They also conjectured that the linear monogamy relations can be saturated when the focus qubit A is maximally entangled with the joint qubits BC. In this work, we prove analytically that both the concurrence and EoF obey linear monogamy relations in an arbitrary three-qubit state. Furthermore, we verify that all three-qubit pure states are maximally entangled in the bipartition A|BC when they saturate the linear monogamy relations. We also study the distribution of the concurrence and EoF. More specifically, when the amount of entanglement between A and B equals to that of A and C, we show that the sum of EoF itself saturates the linear monogamy relation, while the sum of the squared EoF is minimum. Different from EoF, the concurrence and the squared concurrence both saturate the linear monogamy relations when the entanglement between A and B equals to that of A and C.

Entanglement monogamy relations of qubit systems

Xue‐Na Zhu, Shao-Ming Fei

We investigate the monogamy relations related to the concurrence and the entanglement of formation. General monogamy inequalities given by the $\ensuremath{\alpha}\text{th}$ power of concurrence and entanglement of formation are presented for $N$-qubit states. The monogamy relation for entanglement of assistance is also established. Based on these general monogamy relations, the residual entanglement of concurrence and entanglement of formation are studied. Some relations among the residual entanglement, entanglement of assistance, and three tangle are also presented.

Multipartite Monogamy of the Entanglement of Formation for three qubit systems

Xian Shi

Characterizing the distribution of entanglement in multi-partite systems is one of the most interesting topics on entanglement theory. Here we consider a linear monogamy relation between all bipartite partitions for a three-qubit system in terms of entanglement of formation (EoF). We also present the upper bound of the sum of all bipartite partitions for a three qubit pure state in terms of concurrence.

Tight Product Monogamy Inequality for Entanglement

Ida Mishra, Arun Kumar Pati, S Sohail

Quantum entanglement for multiparty system has a unique feature when it comes to sharing its property among various subsystems. This is famously stated as the monogamy of entanglement. The traditional monogamy of concurrence for tripartite system was proved in a sum form. Recently, it was found that concurrence also respects a monogamy in the product form. Here, we prove a tight monogamy relation in the product form for the concurrence of pure tripartite systems. We illustrate our relation with several examples, including the canonical three qubit states, where this monogamy relation is saturated.

Monogamy inequality and residual entanglement of three qubits under decoherence

Thiago Rodrigues de Oliveira

Exploring an analytical expression for the convex roof of the pure state squared concurrence for rank 2 mixed states the entanglement of a system of three particles under decoherence is studied, using the monogamy inequality for mixed states and the residual entanglement obtained from it. The monogamy inequality is investigated both for the concurrence and the negativity in the case of local independent phase damping channel acting on generalized Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states of three particles and the local independent amplitude damping channel acting on generalized $\ensuremath{\mid}\mathrm{W}⟩=\ensuremath{\mid}001⟩+\ensuremath{\mid}010⟩+\ensuremath{\mid}100⟩$ state of three particles. It is shown that the bipartite entanglement between one qubit and the rest has a qualitative similar behavior to the entanglement between individual qubits, and that the residual entanglement in terms of the negativity cannot be a good entanglement measure for mixed states, since it can increase under local decoherence.

We investigate the monogamy nature of entanglement in a three-qubit system. A monogamy inequality is presented to describe the exclusive relation between the A\ensuremath-BA\text{\ensuremath{-}}BA\ensuremath-B two-qubit concurrence CAB{C}_{AB}CAB and the AB\ensuremath-CAB\text{\ensuremath{-}}CAB\ensuremath-C three-qubit concurrence C(AB)C{C}_{(AB)C}C(AB)C, which represents the entanglement between qubits A\mathit{A}A and B\mathit{B}B as a whole and the third qubit C\mathit{C}C. It is found that the entanglement between any two qubits in a three-qubit system is limited by the entanglement between these two qubits and another qubit. As a consequence, we present the upper bounds for the concurrence CAB{C}_{AB}CAB, when the concurrence between qubits A\mathit{A}A and C\mathit{C}C (CAC)({C}_{AC})(CAC) and the concurrence between qubits B\mathit{B}B and C\mathit{C}C (CBC)({C}_{BC})(CBC) are both given or one of the two is provided.
