Abstract

Using the nonlinear coherent states approach, a general formalism for the construction of various classes of nonlinear trio coherent states in the context of multi-mode quantum states has been proposed. In particular, taking into account the most popular nonlinearity function associated with f -deformed coherent states, i.e. the nonlinearity function of the centre-of-mass motion of a trapped ion, it is illustrated that the corresponding trio coherent state possesses some interesting nonclassical properties. To establish this observation, sub-Poissonian statistics, three-mode squeezing, the behaviour of Vogel's characteristic function and the existence of entanglement are investigated. Due to the intrinsic non-classicality nature of the considered three-mode states, their physical production may be of high interest in the quantum optics field. Thus, we have finally demonstrated how nonlinear motional trio coherent states can be generated in three-dimensional anisotropic traps, appropriately.

K-dimensional trio coherent states

Hyo Seok Yi, Nguyen Ba An, Jaewan Kim

We introduce a novel class of higher-order, three-mode states called K-dimensional trio coherent states. We study their mathematical properties and prove that they form a complete set in a truncated Fock space. We also study their physical content by explicitly showing that they exhibit nonclassical features such as oscillatory number distribution, sub-poissonian statistics, Cauchy-Schwarz inequality violation and phase-space quantum interferences. Finally, we propose an experimental scheme to realize the state with K=2 in the quantized vibronic motion of a trapped ion.

Quantum engineering and nonclassical properties of SU(1,1) and SU(2) entangled nonlinear coherent states

Amir Karimi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, after a brief review on the entangled coherent state, a general form of the entangled nonlinear coherent state has been introduced based on the nonlinear coherent states approach. By choosing particular f-deformation functions, theoretical schemes for generation of two distinct classes of such states associated with SU(1,1) and SU(2) groups are presented. The entanglement characteristic of the corresponding entangled coherent states has been studied by evaluating the concurrence. In the continuation, other nonclassical behaviors of the produced states have been analyzed by investigating sub-Poissonian photon statistics, the oscillatory photon number distribution, one- and two-mode quadrature squeezing, and sum and difference squeezing. Accordingly, in addition to their entanglement property, other nonclassicality features of the introduced states are well established in detail.

Four-photon nonlinear coherent states

O. Abbasi, Akbar Jafari

We have introduced the notion of ‘four-photon nonlinear coherent states’ (FPNCSs) as right eigenstates of the fourth power of the generalized annihilation operator A4. It has been shown that there are four possible sets of such states which all can be expressed as the deformed Schrödinger cat type states derived from the superposition of four nonlinear coherent states (NCSs) which are π/2 out of phase. The nonclassical properties of the FPNCSs would be studied for two well-known quantum systems, a Kerr-like medium and a trapped laser-driven ion far from the Lamb-Dicke regime. We have found that the depth or the domain of the nonclassical features of FPNCSs in terms of sub-Poissonian photon statistics, higher order squeezing as well as amplitude-squared squeezing are higher than the corresponding standard states. Specifically, the proposed states in this paper exhibit sub-Poissonian statistics over an extensive range of real amplitudes which is in contrast with the lower level of sub-Poissonian characteristics of four-photon standard coherent states. Also the depth or domain of the nonclassical features of the FPNCSs can be modified by changing the magnitude of the nonlinearity parameters. Analysis of the quasi-probability distributions like Glauber–Sudarshan P-function, Husimi Q-function and Wigner distribution function verifies the nonclassical nature of the presented states. Studying the cavity field evolution in the interaction of a single two-level atom with an even NCS in the framework of f-deformed Jaynes-Cummings model shows that such a system can potentially be considered as a possible source for generating the proposed states.

New nonlinear coherent states associated with inverse bosonic andf-deformed ladder operators

Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Using the nonlinear coherent states method , a formalism for the construction of the coherent states associated with ‘ inverse bosonic operators ’ and their dual family has been proposed. Generalizing the approach, the ‘inverse of f -deformed ladder operators’ corresponding to the nonlinear coherent states in the context of quantum optics and the associated coherent states have been introduced. Finally, after applying the proposal to a few known physical systems, particular nonclassical features as sub-Poissonian statistics and the squeezing of the quadratures of the radiation field corresponding to the introduced states have been investigated.

A new class off-deformed charge coherent states and their nonclassical properties

M Mortazavi, M K Tavassoly

Two-mode charge (pair) coherent states have been introduced previously by using the 〈η| representation. In this paper, we reobtain these states by a rather different method. Then, using the nonlinear coherent state approach and based on a simple manner by which the representation of two-mode charge coherent states is introduced, we generalize the bosonic creation and annihilation operators to the f -deformed ladder operators and construct a new class of f -deformed charge coherent states. Unlike the (linear) pair coherent states, our presented structure has the potential to generate a large class of pair coherent states with various nonclassicality signs and physical properties which are of interest. For this purpose, we use a few well-known nonlinearity functions associated with particular quantum systems as some physical appearances of our presented formalism. After introducing the explicit form of the above correlated states in the two-mode Fock space, several nonclassicality features of the corresponding states (as well as the two-mode linear charge coherent states) are numerically investigated by calculating quadrature squeezing, the Mandel parameter, the second-order correlation function, the second-order correlation function between the two modes and the Cauchy–Schwartz inequality. Also, the oscillatory behaviour of the photon count and the quasi-probability (Husimi) function of the associated states will be discussed. Sun K. Hong

Nonlinear trio-coherent states are introduced and the properties of the completeness relation, number distribution and Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities are studied. It is shown that these states are super-completeness and possess sub-Poissonian number distribution and violation of Cauchy-Schwarz inequalities.
