Entanglement of a pair of atomic qubits near a carbon nanotube

Igor V. Bondarev, Branislav Vlahović

We investigate the entanglement of quasi-one-dimensional atomic polariton states formed by atoms (ions) located close to or encapsulated inside carbon nanotubes and strongly coupled to the nanotube virtual photonic modes. Small-diameter metallic nanotubes are shown to result in sizable amounts of two-qubit atomic entanglement, which persists with no damping for very long times.

Qubit Entanglement from a Bipartite Atomic System in a Carbon Nanotube

Igor V. Bondarev, Branislav Vlahović

We study a scheme for the entanglement of two twolevel atoms based on the previously developed photon Green function formalism for quantizing an electromagnetic field in the presence of a carbon nanotube. We show that the (resonator-like) cylindrical nanotube environment can result in a significant degree of quantumbit entanglement of the bipartite atomic subsystem.
