Effects of dipole—dipole interaction on entanglement transfer

Abstract

A system consisting of two different atoms interacting with a two-mode vacuum, where each atom is resonant only with one cavity mode, is considered. The effects of dipole—dipole (dd) interaction between two atoms on the atom-atom entanglement and mode-mode entanglement are investigated. For a weak dd interaction, when the atoms are initially separable, the entanglement between them can be induced by the dd interaction, and the entanglement transfer between the atoms and the modes occurs efficiently; when the atoms are initially entangled, the entanglement transfer is almost not influenced by the dd interaction. However, for a strong dd interaction, it is difficult to transfer the entanglement from the atoms to the modes, but the atom-atom entanglement can be maintained when the atoms are initially entangled.

Effect of mode–mode competition on atom–atom entanglement

Qin Wu, Mao-Fa Fang, Cai Jian-Wu

A system consisting of two atoms interacting with a two-mode vacuum is considered, where each atom is resonant with the two cavity modes through two different competing transitions. The effect of mode–mode competition on the atom–atom entanglement is investigated. We find that the entanglement between the two atoms can be induced by the mode–mode competition. For the initial atomic state |Ψ(0)}, whether the atoms are initially separated or entangled, a large or even maximal entanglement between them can be obtained periodically by introducing the mode–mode competition. For the initial atomic state |Φ(0)}, the strong mode–mode competition can prevent the two atoms entangled initially from suffering entanglement sudden death; besides, it makes them in a more stable and longer-lived entanglement than in the non-competition case.

Dynamics of atomic entanglement induced by field

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Michail S. Mastyugin

The entanglement of two dipole-coupled superconducting flux qubits with degenerate and nondegenerate twophoton transitions interacting with one-mode or two-mode field in lossless cavity has been investigated. The influence of dipole-dipole interaction on the entanglement between two qubits for different initial atom-field entangled states has been considered. The results show that the entanglement between two artificial atoms can be increased by means of dipole-dipole interaction and for some initial states the entanglement sudden death effect can be weakened.

Infiuence of dipole-dipole interaction on the transfer and preservation of quantum entanglement information

Dong Kang-jun

Using the method of time-evolution operator, the time evolution properties of the system of identical two-level atoms dipole interacting resonantly with a single-mode cavity field in detail by means of quantum theory is discused. The influence of dipole-dipole interaction on the transfer and preservation of quantum entanglement information is analyzed. The calculation and analysis indicates that the procedure of the swap and conservation of quantum information depends on the initial of the atoms. For W type atoms, the initial entangled information of atoms or photons are contpletely conserved under dipole-dipole interaction intensity satisfying some conditions. It appears also the phenomenon of part exchange and preservation besides some mix entangled states under different conditions. The dipole-dipole interaction doesn't effect on transfer and preservation for GHZ type atom entangled states.

Entanglement between two atoms in the presence of dipole-dipole interaction and atomic coherence

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Darya V. Litvinova

We have investigated the influence of dipole-dipole interaction and initial atomic coherence on dynamics of two-atom systems. We have considered a model, in which only one atom is trapped in a cavity, and the other one can be spatially moved freely outside the cavity. We have shown the possibility of disappearance of the entanglement sudden death effect in the presence of the dipole interaction of atoms. We have also derived that the initial atomic coherence can be used for effective control of the degree of the atom-atom entanglement.

Entanglement between atom interacting with a thermal field of a lossless cavity and a free atom

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Башкиров Е. К, Maria O. Guslyannikova +1 more

In the present paper we studied the entanglement of a quantum system consisting of two dipole-coupled two-level atoms, one of which interacts with one-mode thermal field in a lossless cavity, and another is outside a cavity. We obtained the analytical expression of the atom-atom negativity for separable initial atomic state and investigated the influence of a detuning between the atom and the field frequencies and direct dipole-dipole interaction on an atom-atom entanglement. We derived that detuning might cause high atom-atom entanglement in the presence of the dipole-dipole interaction. We also showed that the detuning and dipole-dipole interaction are an effective mechanisms for control and operation of the atomic entanglement.

Entanglement transfer between atoms in two distant cavities via an optical fibre

Xing Mao Xiao, Mao-Fa Fang

This paper presents a treatment of the entanglement transfer between atoms in two distant cavities coupled by an optical fibre. If the atoms resonantly and collectively interact with the local single-mode cavity fields and the dipole–dipole interaction between the atoms is neglected, then it shows that a complete transfer of entanglement from one pair of atoms to another can be deterministically realized. Furthermore, it also investigates the effects of dipole–dipole interaction on entanglement transfer on the condition that the interaction between the atoms and the cavity is much weaker than the coupling between the cavity and the fibre.
