Uncertainties of coherent states for a generalized supersymmetric annihilation operator

Abstract

This study presents supersymmetric coherent states that are eigenstates of a general four-parameter family of annihilation operators. The elements of this family are defined as operators in Fock space that transform a subspace of a definite number of particles into a subspace with one particle removed. The emphasis is on classifying parameter space in various regions according to the uncertainty bounds of the corresponding coherent states. Specifically, the uncertainty in position-momentum is analyzed, with specific focus on characterizing regions of minimum uncertainty states, regions where the uncertainties are bounded from above, and where they grow unbound.

New Supercoherent States

Mordechai Kornbluth, Fredy R. Zypman

This study generalizes the supersymmetric coherent states introduced by Aragone and Zypman in 1986. The Hamiltonian of the supersymmetric quantum harmonic oscillator leads to the definition of the generalized supersymmetric annihilation operators as a 3-parameter family. Their eigenstates are the generalized supercoherent states, which can be calculated explicitly for three relevant regions of parameter space. The uncertainty in position and momentum is discussed, with specific concentration on where the uncertainty is saturated, where it is bounded, and where it is unbounded.

Coherent states for general potentials. I. Formalism

Michael Martin Nieto, L. M. Simmons

We first review the properties of the harmonic-oscillator coherent states which can be equivalently defined as (a) a specific subset of the $x\ensuremath{-}p$ minimum-uncertainty states, (b) eigenstates of the annihilation operator, or (c) states created by a certain unitary exponential displacement operator. Then we present a new method for finding coherent states for particles in general potentials. Its basis is the desire to find those states which most nearly follow the classical motion, but it is most nearly a generalization of the minimum-uncertainty method. The properties of these states are discussed in detail. Next we show that the annihilation operator and displacement operator methods, as heretofore defined, cannot be applied to general potentials (whose eigenvalues are not equally spaced). We define a generalization of these methods but show that the states so defined are not, in general, equivalent to the minimum-uncertainty coherent states. We discuss a number of properties of our coherent states and the procedures we have used.

Supersymmetric Displaced Number States

Fredy R. Zypman

We introduce, generate and study a family of supersymmetric displaced number states (SDNS) that can be considered generalized coherent states of the supersymmetric harmonic oscillator. The family is created from the seminal supersymmetric boson-fermion entangling annihilation operator introduced by Aragone and Zypman and later expanded by Kornbluth and Zypman. Using the momentum representation, the states are obtained analytically in compact form as displaced supersymmetric number states. We study their position-momentum uncertainties, and their bunchiness by classifying them according to their Mandel Q-parameter in phase space. We were also able to find closed form analytical representations in the space and number basis.

Representation and properties of para-Bose oscillator operators. II. Coherent states and the minimum uncertainty states

J. K. Sharma, C. L. Mehta, Narasimhaiengar Mukunda +1 more

The energy, position, and momentum eigenstates of a para-Bose oscillator system were considered in paper I. Here we consider the Bargmann or the analytic function description of the para-Bose system. This brings in, in a natural way, the coherent states ‖z;α〉 defined as the eigenstates of the annihilation operator ?. The transformation functions relating this description to the energy, position, and momentum eigenstates are explicitly obtained. Possible resolution of the identity operator using coherent states is examined. A particular resolution contains two integrals, one containing the diagonal basis ‖z;α〉〈z;α‖ and the other containing the pseudodiagonal basis ‖z;α〉〈−z;α‖. We briefly consider the normal and antinormal ordering of the operators and their diagonal and discrete diagonal coherent state approximations. The problem of constructing states with a minimum value of the product of the position and momentum uncertainties and the possible α dependence of this minimum value is considered.

Defining coherent states: why must they be eigenstates of the annihilation operator?

Juan Pablo Paz, Augusto J. Roncaglia

This is a pedagogical paper where we present a physically motivated approach to introduce the coherent states of a harmonic oscillator from which it is simple to rigorously derive their mathematical definition. We do this in two different ways that turn out to be equivalent but emphasize two related but different aspects of classicality. First, we analyze which are the quantum states that are the closest one can get to a point in phase space and demonstrate the validity of the following theorem: (i) The product of the uncertainty in position and that of momentum saturates the bound imposed by Heisenberg uncertainty relations for all times if and only if the state is an eigenstate of the annihilation operator. Second, we analyze the way in which the difference between the expectation value of the energy and the energy associated with the expectation values of position and momentum depends on the state, and show the validity of the following theorem (ii) the difference between the expectation value of the energy and the energy associated with the expectation values is minimal if and only if the state is an eigenstate of the annihilation operator. We also show that the reason why coherent states are chosen as the most classical ones by the decoherence process induced by coupling the particle to an environment in the standard Quantum Brownian motion model, is precisely due to the validity of the two above theorems.

New family of parasupercoherent states: entanglement, uncertainties, and statistical properties

Amin Motamedinasab, Azam Anbaraki, Davood Afshar +1 more

The general parasupersymmetric annihilation operator of arbitrary order does not reduce to the Kornbluth–Zypman general supersymmetric annihilation operator for the first order. In this paper, we introduce an annihilation operator for a parasupersymmetric harmonic oscillator that in the first order matches with the Kornblouth–Zypman results. Then, using the latter operator, we obtain the parasupercoherent states and calculate their entanglement, uncertainties, and statistics. We observe that these states are entangled for any arbitrary order of parasupersymmetry and their entanglement goes to zero for the large values of the coherency parameter. In addition, we find that the maximum of the entanglement of parasupercoherent states is a decreasing function of the parasupersymmetry order. Moreover, these states are minimum uncertainty states for large and also small values of the coherency parameter. Furthermore, these states show squeezing in one of the quadrature operators for a wide range of the coherency parameter, while no squeezing in the other quadrature operator is observed at all. In addition, using the Mandel parameter, we find that the statistics of these new states are subPoissonian for small values of the coherency parameter.
